this thread is devoted to all those unforntate ppl, like myself, who have had huge fights with major companies, or a still on going saga! i appologise for the spelling as i am about to write alot of txt and i cant really be bothered to make sure every word is perfect, well here goes!
my first major saga with a company or in this case, 2 companies, started last night at 9pm, and finshed at 3pm 2day! well here goes!
once upon a time...(lol) my explorer for no reason buggered, its as simple as that, what i mean is, it works as normal (normal...i microsoft product!ha!) but for some reason, it didnt register me pressing buttons, such as the sumbit thread button below, if i press it, it either suck in never to be seen again, or froze, and then in 30secs time it registerted it and worked, outlook express had joined in aswel, but with oe, when i pressed the little letter in the corner, the whole comp froze for 30secs and then it loaded! persoanlly, i didnt give a aboout oe but i needed explorer as i have my GCSE's (major exams) this week and i wanted to revisve online and i couldnt press the ing mark button, and i had a bleeding exam the next day! so yevat, so managed to sort his problems out, came round, and on his machine, he took off all net tools, and all of our isp (ntl, uve prob herd all about them) and reinatalled exporer and all thats friends, and then ntl again, it worked fine, so we decided to do the same on mine, (this is around 10pm with my geog exam looming) so he tottles down and removes my net tools and ntl. (the reason for removing ntl as there software is normally the problem and never fails to summit up!) then, to reinstall net tools it wants my win cd, so im just about to give it it and its already copied 5% without the cd int he drive! how the hell it mangaed that who knows, but still, i put in the cd and copied it over, then we both installed ntl again, we used yevats cd as mine, which had sat in the same place for months on end suddenly imploded into the table or summit, so we install all ntls and the we get to the registration screen, it doesnt load, we try again, it doesnt load, this the screen that when u connect u fill in ur details online. we get back to the desktop and we see that all my old ntl connection setup is still there, so we try and connect with it,we get a dead connection, this is where it recives nothing and sends nothing = explore...doing nothing! we conenct about 10times, deads all the time except a few times when we get the phamton connection where its reciving a whole bunch of bytes, but theres nothing to show for it, u get like a 1mg in like 2mins (which is g8 with a 56k 28,000) but even with all that being recived, nothing showing on the screen, (geog exam getting ever closer with no revision done at all) and then we install ntl, we remove ntl, we install explorer, we uninstall explorer, god damn we insatlled every ing thing we could think of and removed all sorts to get that think to work...deads all night, after about 2hrs of ing around all weve done is distroyed what was there, and all this upto now was microsofts falut a for no reaon explorer decided it wanted to up! then me and yevat after one more dead connection, just sat at the comp and laffed, well it was laff or cry! yevat left for home and i went bed, nowt else to do and i wasnt in the mood for books! the next day i get in from school, and ring ntl! this is when the fun really started, ringing ntl, either u get holded for 30mins, cut off, or dont "well we cant help u, sorry" and then hung up on! yevat had enough telephone expirences with ntl so i ew what was coming! i rang ntl general support and got told this is a technical support matter and if u would like to phone them on... they ca help, fair enough, but that line costs £1 (about $1.5) per min, THAT! im not paying £1 per min to sort out a product made BY THEM! and then technical whatever tell me that they cannot help me as a part of the data protection act, just coz im not 16, even tho the ing ntl world account is in MY NAME!!! so that cost me £3 just to be told "sorry...we cant help...piss off!!" then im starting to get pissed, and who wouldnt, so i ring the ntl team leaders # coz, well i new it and id had enough, so i ring him and all he does it has a go at yevat for giving me his number and says talk to the techi behind me, im busy and walked off, and thats the ing team leader!!! so this guy called tim comes to the phone, and i have to say this guy is a decent guy! so i explain my prob and first of all he says right "forget the ntl cd" and then i new we might be able to sort this, coz the ntl cd s everything, always has done! so we get rid of everything ntl and everything netbased! reboot, install certain parts of my net tools from my win cd and then we make a new connection called ntl and manual set it up, we set ips and tick boxes and all bloody sorts, by now werd been on the phone 1hr! and then connect, dead... so we play with it some more and then finally it works again, but guess what explorer doesnt!! tipical! then tims wordz "oh the wonders of microsoft" hahah, we then spent the next 10mins slagging off m/soft! win me the lot, all ! hahah! so then we install explorer again, still ed, tweak it, still ed, try everything, still ed, so then i reinstall WINDOWS, which took suprisly only 30mins, and it also kept all my handware config aswel! so when it made a new icon for explorer and i used the new one, and its STILL ed! were both pissed now and bitch about microsoft again! what else is there to do? so i dig out netscape 4.7 and whack that on, oooooo, then my brother hits the roof! "u put that on and ill format it all" ing hell! so i install netscape and set all that up, i load explorer for one last try, and the ing thing works perfectly!!!!! im like OMFG!!!!!! ARRRRRRGH! so i test that thoughly and it all workx! im happy but at the same time, ING HELLL!!!!!!!!!!!! so i take of all of netscape and now on explorer and oe both work pefectly! SO WHAT WAS THE ING PROBLEM THEN?!?!?!!?? no1 knows, it ed itself, ed ntl with it, wasted both my and tims entire afternoon, and then mended itself again! ARRRRRRGH! and i would just like to say, (and if uve read all about ntl acorss TA) ntl is the biggest pile fo ing bull, all except tim, whos a class guy! and microsoft U ARE ING ARSEHOLES!!!!!!!!!!! all that and u caused and fixed it all urself for no reason at all! arrrrgh! i phoned tim back and he just sat and laffed, all he sed was "the wonders of mircosoft always amaze, take care" and that was that! all that for ing nothing!
if uve read that far then take a breather.lol well thats my longest company saga, would love to hear some1 elses!!
