As a diehard fan of Moogles I almost rank FFVI as my favourite as well :tongue2

| ff8 was a great rpg, but lacked in square standards. oh well, slight dissapointment, but the most fun part in the game would have to be the eden/ultima weapon sidequest |

| I think FFTactics is amazing. The storyline will blow your mind,and the battle system is amazing(job based like FF5). FF7 was my hands down favorite until I played FFT now its about even for me. |

Most of the games secrets u get hints somehow, with people, or the magazines.
But with Doomtrain im forced to agree with u, though...
FF8 had its flaw, but got me addicted cuz the item/magic/card refinment system, its so wide that got me playing for 3 times and had fun every minute, cuz theres much to play with and try out... Didnt enjoyed much having to draw magic to use it, but i aways got my magic from items, so, it dont bothers me much.
Good game, but 5, 6, and 7 was better.
9 rocks for old school fans (like me, hehe)
10 and 10-2 are incredible!! |

ill tell u why,...its cuz most ppl who played it have played a previous FF to VIII. alot of ppl played VII as their first FF and was blown away because it was a totally different kind of game and didnt know what to expect. when VIII came out alot of ppl had very high expectations and were let down because the story wasnt up to par with the last. FFVIII was the first final fantasy game i ever played and it was my favourite one.
id say its very likely that the first FF u ever play will remain your favourite. |

If FF8 was succesful, it was because of the lil love story, imo. Sure, the graphics/CG were not bad IMO, and merging static CG animations with realtime 3D characters was a big 'whoa' to me. (For example, the battle between Squall's and Seifer Gardens near the end of the CD 2 I think. You know, when Squall/Rinoa had to run "thru the battlefield" to get into seifers garden..)
Of course, the new GF/draw techniques was really confusing at that time, because the esper, materia was there for a long time and it was similar and simple. |
