Gabriel & Dresden going commercial?

I just realized that G&D have been doing quite a few commercial remixes lately. It's not a bad thing because they're all quite good compared to what trance remixes usually come out to sound like when remixing commerical material. So far we've got:

Coldplay- Clocks (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Duncan Shiek- On a High (Gabriel & Dresden's Love from Humboldt Remix)
Gabriel & Dresden- Acid Elliot (Samples Missy Elliot song)
Jewel- Intuition (Attention Deficit Mixes)
Deborah Cox- Play Your Part (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)

Not many artists have been able to consistently produce trance remixes of commercial tunes like G&D have. Keep up the good work guys, but don't ever let the commercial success get to your head. ;)

yea man ive noticed that too...hopefully they dont go to far. I think the only thing really about that missy track that makes it commercial are the vocals...aside from that the rest of the track sounds non-commercial. Now that deborah cox track...wow!...its nothin but commercial!...

oh man do i love G&D.

well, i personally dont consider the majority of their beats TRANCE as much as i do progressive. thats really opinion i guess.

well, i havent heard nor do i know anything about the three other choons, i am under the impression the only mix of coldplay - clocks that has any g&d stamp on it is the I gotta Thank Mix which has been circulating around. that isnt actually a remix. its simply the song I Gotta Thank by G&D with the original clocks coming in and out. nonetheless its a killer mix and its orginality and skillful execution are reasons why i love G&D.

now, acid elliot is in fact a remix (or as you correctly put it, it samples Work It by Missy), but i dont think this is getting any release. to me this implies it wasnt done for anyone but G&D, meaning missy or missy's producers didnt ask for it nor do they permit it, therefore, its technically NOT commericial. it is by definition underground.

i guess the previous two paragraphs make it sound like i am trying to defend any accusations that G&D are going commericial. i dont want to give the wrong idea, i would LOVE if they went commericial, then more people would have them do mixes and theyd be putting out more choons. i just think its the case that they arent going commericial, despite my wishes.

Because they made As the Rush Comes, I think they can do whatever they want. I don't care.

but that track still owns.

i feel the same way about Josh Gabriel - Wave 3 (Club Mix).

oooooh

hmm i dont quite consider g&d to be going commercial since the tracks theyve remixed arent usually commerical with the exception of clocks and the missy elliot tune. its a diff story than tiesto doing a madonna track. perhaps im being biased here but these mixes sound DAMN good.

i think the coolest thing you can do is make a dope remix out of a commercial song...its seems classy and funky to me. crowds love to hear something like missy elliot but in a remix. it just brings fun to the scene and i love what they are doing.

I mean maybe they are but theyre doin a good job. Theyr remixes are all class, and I think it betters the scene. Acid Elliot is great, also I didnt know they were Attention Defecit.
