Since some of you people seem to be overly obsessed with getting signed/released/whatever, I thought I'd post this:

and the moral is: buy less music (download more) because the artists won't see any of the money anyway ;)

This was definately a good read, but it seems to apply for bigger labels, rather than the majority of small-mid trance labels.

My personal thoughts:

These record contracts are tricky. They are worded strangely, very difficult to understand, and can limit almost everything you do in the future. It is very important that you make sure you understand the contract before you sign anything. What may seem like a good deal could turn out to put a halt on your future music career for many years. If you are serious about your music, and you don't want to be stuck in the future because of a foolish mistake, Get a lawyer!

ROFL,werd up!:haha:Good read,Mr.Mystert, even tho I suspect that things are a bit different since that article covers bands, not producers/djs.

hahah good read...

We're not all bad though.

Our label are more interested about getting the tracks pressed & released than the money coming in.

Of course we dont have that much money to offer people anyway, they will still do ok for themselves :)

anyway, if anybody fancies sending me demos...pm me for my address and we'll talk :)
