Ferrys remix isn't happy it's sad, sweet and turned a classic piece into trance, theres always going to have to be a beat & bassline that some determine as cheesey on it to do anything, and my main problem is that Tijs after bitching endlessly about not wanting to be another ferry corsten has remade a tune ferry made perfect in a trance sense |

| the minimalistix mix is great also btw.. |

Better than Ferry's, I think. It has more edge. But what is with the discordant bass-melody overlay right at the beginning? That needs to be snipped out.
I'm sure the flying Dutchman isn't too thrilled right now.
Also, both are products of their time. Ferry's remix represented the 99 trance sound, and Tiesto's mix is a natural progression of that to what trance sounds more like today. |

I don't like and have never liked Ferry's remix, who cares? I don't like how he developed the harmony into a major key after the breakdown, it just doesn't sound right to me. I had played the original Barber a thousand times with my orchestra before the Ferry mix ever came out and when I heard that remix it sounded like an insult to Barber. Sorry if you don't like my opinion, but that's just the way it is.
And Tijs has proven to me enough times that he's above Ferry in every way (except beatmatching). However, it would be pointless to discuss that here because everyone knows that you're a Ferry Corsten whore and I'm a Tiesto whore. :p
edit: Cobalt's right. Both remixes are products of their time and I recognize that Ferry's mix is quality too production-wise (even if i don't like it). |

oh really, then I wanna hear a PvD 'rework' or re-edit of Barber's Adagio. It would be interesting to see how it would turn out with his amazingly original bassline :haha: |
