Holy shit, great news for East Coasters (and especially Wash DC/Baltimore people)

Hey all,
I just got some great news :)
Buzz @ Nations, one of the best all-night weekly events on the East Coast is now 18+.. It was 19+ for a while, due to an ecstasy drug bust by an undercover TV station crew.
Finally, they went back to being 18 and over.. You have no idea how great that is for kids out here.. From everything I read and heard about Buzz, it's comparable to the best Miami and NYC clubs, and it's right in the center of the East Coast.. Finally, Wash DC comes of age..
Mauro Picotto will be playing there on the 29th, and I can go see him! Woho :)

| Though im only 16, i REALLY want to go clubbin at a big club. I live in Baltimore and am wondering if from your experiences, do fake ids work well in getting into clubs? Thanks. |

When is Picotto coming? Does he spin trance or NRG?
Last time I was in DC I had a pretty bad experience, I went to Glow and the damn place didn't even have a parking lot for God's sake, I kept searching for that little spot for hours in downtown DC and couldn't find it, to top it all off the music was just stupid kick-and-snare with NO melody and the crowd sucked.
Does Buzz at least have a parking lot... how hard is it to find it? |

Yeah, Glow kinda sucks. Me and krusader saw Tiesto and Edgar V spin there, they were good.. but the venue sucks, parking is hard to find, and most of all, the temperature inside that club was just unbelievably high.
Eugene, if you ever get a chance.. Hit Platinum on 9th and F street. It's the coolest club in DC, although Nation is more famous, has guest DJs and is just better overall. Platinum is a great place to meet people, have fun and dance to all kinds of music.. Friday nights are best - DJ Rob Clay plays a lot of good trance.. And it sounds especially good if you have a supermodel-looking girl dancing with you for hours :)
I'm going to Platinum three nights a week now, just cause real life is so boring.. until I go to college in the fall, clubbing is the only fun thing to do around here. However, I'm glad that Buzz is now 18+.. a change of pace can be pretty good sometimes. I'll miss Friday nights at Platinum (Ladies Nights, 1.5-2 girls to every guy.. hell yeah :) ), but Buzz is worth it. I'm definitely gonna go see Mauro Picotto at the end of June. He's one of my favorite DJs.

Ok guys I have some more good news for Wash. DC area. This is the current lineup I know of so far...
Friday 8: Deep Dish at Nation/Buzz
Saturday 9: Taucher at Glow (tracks such as Pictures of a Gallery)
Saturday 23: Talla2XLC AND Bossi from Cosmic Gate at Glow!!!

Buzz does have a parking lot, it's 10-15 bucks to park though. The good thing about Glow is their stereo system, incredible bass, the club itself is a bit small though, I love the lasers and bubbles they shoot at various points throughout the night. Buzz itself is a huge club with an outside "patio" area to catch a breather. The sound system is also off the hook. The only thing I don't like about Buzz is the "no dress-code" policy. I dont' know about you guys, but I like to look good when going clubbing, going out at night is your chance to look your best, and wear those clothes you don't/can't wear normally: those black leather pants, those flashy shirts and tank tops, etc. Hope this info helps you all out, looking forward to seeing all those great DJs!!!!!! |

Depends on the club.. some bouncers look at ID's a lot more carefully than others. I've gotten 21+ wristbands when I showed my REAL id (which clearly says I'm 18), cause I look older than I really am :)
Some places pay attention, some don't. If you look pretty mature, and dress appropriately (your clothes don't hang off you.. buy medium size clubware, even if you wear large normally), you might be able to get into 7 out of 10 places, as long as your fake ID looks anything like you, and you don't claim to be over 21. I think a 16 year old can get into many clubs with an ID that says he's 18.

hey Spain Trance do u know if Picotto will be an advanced ticketed event?...how does that work...cuz if I drive from Boston I wanna make sure that i get in...does the place fill up quickly?

Nennon, I agree that Glow's location does suck, it's a bit small and hot too. The good things are the details they have, bubbles, lasers, good sound system, and most of all GREAT DJS!! They had ATB, Tiesto, Taucher, etc... By the way, I was there when Tiesto and Edgar were spinning, one of the highlights was when Edgar played Norman Bass-How you like Bass? I've never been to Platinum actually, I heard it's good, a friend of mine is a resident DJ next door at Volt, although comments about the Volt haven't been good lately. I definitely have to check out Platinum, my gripe is that they don't really have big name DJs, but that doesn't mean the ones they have are bad... anywayz, this month is gonna be hot! |

Good question Sean, Picotto's night will actually be a regular admission event: $12 before 11pm and $15 after 11pm. I went to Buzz last Friday to see Judge Jules, I must've arrived at about 1 am or so, and there were alot of people, but it wasn't extremely packed. If you get there by 12 or 12:30 you should be fine. Anticipate it being crowded though. Even if they do stop letting people in, people are constantly entering and exiting, as soon as someone leaves, people get in. I wouldn't be worried though since Buzz is HUGE. Good luck!
