Pros:
- kickass special effects
- car chasse is godly ;)
Cons:
- plot crumbles under its pseudo-philosophical (determinist) approach.
- Some plotholes from the first fixed, many more created
- Random kung fu fights each 10 minutes are tiresome, more of the same.. ;(
Conclusion:
A must see movie, but only for the effects.. :p |

**some spoilers within*
yeah, i kept having to tell myself that i already knew what the matrix was, and this movie wasnt going to be able to have anything that shocking in it. The discussion with the programmer of the matrix at the end probably bored anyone who doesnt know math and programming and stuff hehe. but come on they had a 996 in there...you know its tight. good fights, and instead of thinking they ripped it off...ill say they payed homage to crouching tiger hidden dragon with the weapon scene.
my only problem that isnt neccessarily a problem is that if you went to go to see a tight ass fight/car movie with crazy effects you got it, but youd get bored with the endless philosophical conversations. They seemed out of place and were placed as seamlessly as something like that could be, but still were kind of awkward. The twins need to show up more, and if they died im gonna be pissed, cuz they were awesome. We are getting upset...love it!
Good movie if you go in with different expectations/no expectations
my 2c

| I was officially owned by this movie tonight. The action was off the hook, and I enjoyed the philosophical part of the movie as well. I'm already psyched for the next one. My only gripes were that Monica Bellucci needed more air time, and the twins should have been around a little longer as well. Other than that I believe the movie lived up to all the hype, and more. Can't wait to see it again. |

thought:
i) a little mad that trailer gave away almost all the best parts
ii) much more phylisophical and mind stirring then the first one
iii) a few parts were uncohesive imo
iv) my favourite part was the 1000 agent smith fight in the schoolyard/park whatever it was
btw, the guy that does agent smith was a genious in acting in first matrix and was godly in his acting in the 2nd matrix imo, i just cant believe a human can play that part so well, it couldn't have been any better in my opinion, as enjoyable at it was to watch keanu do his thing, i might even go as far as 1/5 the scence agent smith has, he was even more captivvating then keanu
v) see my sig :p
vi) im high, dont ask why any of this doesn/t make sense :p |

Warning: Spoilers!
I loved the philosophical side of it to death. It was hard to follow but I managed to figure it out. What I expected from the movie was kind of a setup for "Neo becomes all powerful, neo combats machines, frees humanity routine." But no, the whole Architect thing is BRILLIANT. It completely twisted around what I was expecting... its not just opressed, enslaved humans trying to survive, but the machines/programs are trying to survive too. They need each other for their survival, and in the middle of it is the Architect trying to do nothing more than just enslave humans in a perfect matrix, screwing up all the power plant stuff and dooming most all other machines/programs, and at the same time practically making himself supreme ruler. Like the Oracle said "What does a man with power want? More power." All the prophisies are blown out of the water, its a HUGE cliffhanger for the next movie :D |

Awesome movie!
Fights scenes are even better then in part 1 imo.
Still trying to figure out about the story, might have to watch it a second time (or a third time). |

i did have to see the first one twice before i fully understood the story.. i wasn't too sure about going to the matrix reloaded, because after i saw the trailer, i thought they had focused more on special fx rather than the story this time around, but it is encouraging to see that the plot itself still plays an important role.. so i'll probably check it out.. |
