Too bad, too bad but this party definitely belongs on the 'bad party'list for me.
What a disappointing party:( ..AS I entered the room, the atmosphere was there but a different vibe...It was more like a rave...I had some energy drinks,
got a bit buzzed and stood and just horsed around with my friends...Later on when we were getting into it, the music did not work for us in any of the rooms...was it just bad timing or what??? Mauro was not up there....the only tune i liked was the coldplay remix after which I left, so I missed the whole Evacuation.( THANK GOD )
I also to the guv main room and danced for a bit, and that's all I remember. If it wasn't for the ppl i was with, I would have had a crappy time altogether....I just didn't like the techno too much. I barely heard any trance which was a shame!
So the lesson here is : "NEver go to a party unless you trust the DJ! "
I don't think I have ever posted a bad review....I feel bad now!!! :sadgreen:

Yeh when I saw Sharam @ Guv last Victoria day party @ Guv I was soo bored. Ah wellz. Imo Timo Maas at that party was wayyyy better. So I just hung out in the KH and the Orange room a bit, tried getting into Guv but it didn't happen. |

Awwww my poor cellphone died out before me.. neither recharched/slept since those 3h on Friday early morning.
This party was very disappointing and boring. Very bad music - too monotonous from both headliners. The KH crowd was not energetic at all, while the Guv was too packed and too sweaty, and since the music didn't deliver, neither did the crowd. When I saw the sun rays breaking through patio doors into the smoke and sweat inside, I knew it was time to jet to fresh air.
It was cool hanging with TAs: primarily, TranceGeek (we made it!!!! when did you shut off?), infinityHigh (Peeeter, have a great trip, and lots of fun and send a postcard!) and hey to all the others I've seen in a flash, quite a few too.
Overall, not worth the ticket price and it was very unsatisfactory. |

Ok, before I hit the bed again, here's a bit longer review...
Well, we got to the KoolHaus around 10:15 or so and spent like half an hour trying to get the VIP tickets, and after we got that sorted out we run all the way to Element Bar to drop off a buddy of ours (he had to spin that night for a few hours, but it's all good, we caught up with him later on in KH).
After a few tripouts on Queen St., a bottle of vine and bacardi "gone", we got back to Guv around 11:30 or so, missed most of Luke Fair's set (damn!), caught whoever was in KH before Mauro and kinda liked it. To much of a surprise, there were no problems moving between the rooms, and it wasn't much crowded at all (well, the usual number of people).
Moved to Guv to check out Desyn, and damn, was he busting some beats... then back to KH for some Picotto action (oh god, that guy is sick in the head!), and after like half an hour went back to Guv (couldn't really stand those tripouts in KH, it was too much for me!) and caught a bit of Sharam's set there. Thanks to Dj Reza we got up to the podium and chatted up a bit with the big boys - Desyn Masiello, Behrouz, Luke Fair, MV and Deep Dish guys. Then Sharam started tearing the roof off the GUV, dropping darker, more twisted, and definitely disguisting tracks... oh God, I knew it was gonna be a mayhem, but this, this is beyond anything I've expected from Sharam! Orgasmic sex is not even close to what that was... so after a few "orgasms" I headed back to KH to check out the situation there, and sure enough Picotto is trippin' the hell out of everyone alive in there :crazy::crazy:
Again, couldn't last for more than half an hour, so I headed back to GUV for some more Deep Dish and almost overdosed on those beats :eek: Now that was a beauty to my ears, so I decided to give up on Picotto (unless I wanted a brain damage for the next few months) for the night and stayed in the Guv with the "big boys"... around 5:30 or so Luke Fair invited us to some private party, but we were so done we could barely get out of Guv a few hours later, so we had to refuse that (next time hopefully). Then a few mins later we find out from Luke's girlfriend that KH got closed down because of that lunatic (the effect drugs have on people, just unbelievable!) so we figured KH is out of bounds now anyway.
So a few hours and a few amazing songs played by Ali in the end of the night (Creamer's "Forget the World", Lexicon Avenue remix of "Wish You Were Here" and Deep Dish remix of "Let's Get Ill" to close off the night) they kicked us out and there it hit us - what a en party that was!
Met a few TA's (the usual suspects), LKD managed to snap a pic of me which I would really liked removed from any public galleries (to preserve the veil of mistery that surrounds my nickname), met a whole bunch of tripped out people too (not that there's anything wrong with that at all).
And now on to the marking scheme:
Decor: 8/10 (yep, that Dj booth in KH looked pretty sick!)
Picotto: 9/10 (too much, just too freakin' much)
Deep Dish: 9/10 (with the exception of a few tracks Ali played around 6-7am, everything else was banging!)
Luke Fair & Desyn Masiello: 9/10 (what I heard from them was pretty solid)
Crowd: 5/10 (usual Guv/KH crowd - no energy whatsoever with few exceptions here and there)
Bouncers/Management: 6/10 (didn't spend too much time getting checked/bothered by them, so they get a passing mark for that one)
Spending the night with "big boys" behind the decks: Priceless!
and now I'm out until next month...

my review.
all in all the review that seems closest to my experience was brunette's. I meant to make it over to KH, but that never happened.
got into the club 10:30ish or so. once we located our whole group, matt and i went into the acid longue for a bit where i ran i chilled w/ some TA's and some ppl from 'the crew.'
went out to dance to luke. i have a hard time w/ getting into a groove to warm up sets so i wasn't really into it (not his fault, just how i am).
i was feeling a little more peppy by the time desyn came on. which in retrospect, would have been the highlight of my night music-wise. matt (ryanmarcus) noted to me that desyn's set was much better this time around, and i would have to agree w/ that.
w/ the exception of few tracks, DD didn't really do it for me. they didn't fulfill my expectations (much less my dreams!). the music seemed flat, teh vibe was ass. "other factors' made my feet feel like they were made of lead, so i really needed some good beats to compell me to bust some moves..that did not happen.
we left at 630. i haven't left a party that early in a long time. when colin went to get out coats, he didn't some back (b/c they wouldn't let ppl come back in after coat check due to the KH monkey that the guv ppl were unaware of), so erika went to go look for him, and they wouldn't let her back. luckily matt and i ascertained this much, and grabbed amelie and found them outside, waiting for us w/ our coats. the area outside guv was full of ppl and they had coats check in front of the club. when we got to the car our friends explained that they got kicked out of KH at 530 or so, so i guess we could have had it worse.
all in all, music-wise and vibe-wise, this party was not so great. the ultra-spin event and the iDream were much much better in those regards.
despite this, i had a rather good time. The TA's i chilled w/ and met were fabulous, and my crew was awesome as per usual. Other 'elements' were 'in check.'
wonderful chill day on monday spent w/ ppl that i love and adore.

another note. along w/ whistlers as a big annoyance, i would also like to add that the guy that kept insisting on giving each of the girls in our crew lightshows depsite the fact that we didn't want them, and asked him to stop was a massive pain in the ass.

I'm wondering if we have met?
Anyways, about the party.... that really sucks about the Kool Haus and . Obviously glad I didn't go as from what I can see DD was meh. Looks like a lot of you guys were there, looking forward to meeting some of you on Friday at System. |

after waking up from a 14 hr long coma, i think finally i have gathered enough energy to recap my weekend (or maybe not just yet, for some reason i'm in more pain now then in the past 3 days combined, go figure :crazy: )...
Friday @ Lotus:
Hmm, my first thoughts were that it looked interesting. Basically it's a huge 2 floor lounge, split, and I still somewhat like the set-up, even though i personally prefer one huge room with bars one side (ie. KH)... The crowd is your typical 'The Drink' crowd, and I'll just leave it at that :)... anyways, after spending those few hours there, and a couple of futile attempts to get drunk, bored out of our minds, we decided to split w/out checking out Chris' set... I'll prolly come back to the club sometime later, once that 3rd floor opens up [which should be this weekend i heard]?
Saturday @ Guv:
Main room was pretty packed, well not 'labour of love' style, but i expected to see a lot less people... the crowd that was there sucked though, bah... umm, the openning dj in main room (behrouz was it?) was alright, i liked his set, but when MV came on, he just took it to another level, really wicked set, i like, i like a lot... didn't run into any TA's there, except (finally meeting) Swamper... all in all it was an above average night, if i had to rate it, i'd say 7/10... anyways, upon leaving the club, we spent most of the day at brunette's watching F1 (and throwing tomatoes at the tv whenever they'd show raikonen, lol... you and your sister should just give up right now, spare yourselves the misery :stongue: [oh yeah, and LKD, shut up, villeneuve > you :D, BAR is gonna come through, i hope])...

Got in pretty quick, although it felt like winter was coming back while standing in that line up outside... KH's setup was better this time around than at iDream, there was way more room this way, aside main room was packed for the whole night, unbearable at times... yet neither of those rooms had a decent vibe going... greg gow was the higlight of the night i guess, i liked how he opened up for MP, but then MP just ruined it when he came on, he had no flow whatsover... main room wasn't any better off either... deep dish were horrible, they really put me sleep (just like last time... why do i always do this?)... the crowd was way better this time around though... met a lot of TA's that night and some new people, LKD (unforunately :p), infinity HIGH, and some others i think (i'm bad with names on weekends, nothing personal, sorry :) )...
good thing i took today off to gather whats left of my thoughts, the only question now is what to do with the remainder of the day (can't you tell i'm already bored out my mind, i can't remember the last time i left this big of a post, ever... help me! :wtf: )... |
