Secondly when you have seasoned rappers say "Were the last of a dying breed" (scarface) or " rap you can have it back" (Dr. Dre) they obiously dont like or think something is changing in hip-hop. Thirdly the real Hip-hop culture is not about "sitting on doves" or getting "bling bling", All I hear now from so called rappers is the same thing.

Although all I listen to is trance now, I do listen to the old hip-hop stuff too like wu-tang etc.. I'm sure there are plenty of real hip-hop heads out there, but my point is that they are NOT the majority they are the minority, and it seems to me that they have been on the decline these past few years... and I do hope that hip-hop never dies, but in this case I hope that real hip-hop never dies not the Hip-Pop that you listen to on the radio.

uh that Dr. dre song with eminem was commercialized itself, i mean all the cool jr high kids were singing it

-Second, Im sure from the suburbs you're from you know everything there is to know about hip-hop.

-Third, what is this bull that if you dont know anything you shouldnt talk about it, So i guess growing up with hip-hop and living in West Coast makes me not know anything about it. , I was listening to hip-hop since the beginning, when digital underground and nwa were around.(I'm sure you know all about them)

-Anyway, I better stop this before it gets ugly, but before running your mouths in read! It's a in question.

hey and I was also kidding about that last part too (well, half kidding)

Yeah....i think you better take it easy mate, i was only messing with you.

fake hip hop is very well alive, and its taking over the billboard charts in the US with artists like 50 cent nelly jay-z ja rule etc...i don't even consider those artists hip hop artists, they're pop artists to me...good hip hop was in the late eighties to the late nineties when we had eric b and rakim, EPMD, wu-tang, tupac, biggie smalls, nas, mobb deep, ice cube...now these whack ass "rappers" today are living off their successes and fame

and there is no way trance will ever become big in the united states...people here dont listen to anything without vocals/lyrics and catchy beats

true, but that's just cuz they don't kno jack about electronic music and have no easy way to get into it. I'm sure if trance was played as much as rock/hip-hop in america then more ppl would get into it. Since this isn't the case, sucks for the ppl who aren't like us TAs. I'm fine with trance being big in Europe and down low in america. The thought of trance being played on american MTV... :nervous:

yeah hella rappers sold out now i mean sure one can appreciate the added income they must be makin but really nas used to be tight but then he did with what nsync or something (to give an example) like that but like i still think rappers like eminem and some other guys on the mainstream are dope, commercial or not eminems lyrics are ing sick

real hip hop is indeed dead...but that means hip hop is commercialized, cheesy, radio friendly which will ensure that it makes money, gets rappers in crappy movies, dominate radio and is the background music in every other commercial...you dont want trance to "take over"

Hip Hop has the same struggle as trance has. There's a load of commercial crap that's getting into the charts and smelling up the whole genre, and there's lots of quality underground stuff that has quality productions, meaningful and observant lyrics and lyricist skills that are quite impressive. It's just like trance, you gotta dig past all the chart crap in order to get to all the good stuff, which there is plenty of if you know where to look. So saying that hiphop is dead cos ppl like Ja Rule and Nelly keep plaguing us on MTV is like saying trance is dead cos Lasgo and the likes are ravaging the charts.

2Pac's dead. It's been around 6 years since he died. And even if he were to come back he'd go right back to jail. It's very illegal to stage your own death.

You're serious?

Maybe in the USA. That woudn't suprise me at all.

It's illegal to kill yourself in most of the USA. :stongue:

Hip hop isn't dieying and it wont be dead in a few years either. Even if it was trance most certantly wouldnt replace it as the most popular music genre.
