I've been waiting forever for Digweed to come back. I only saw 30 minutes of his set at Area 2. And TCM should be good. I've never seen them before. I remember listening to their debut cd all the time when it came out..memories.
Anyway, hopefully I'll be there. :) |

I saw Sasha & Digweed and Jimmy van M there in November 2001 and it was pretty good. Theres a dancefloor up front by the stage that a decent size and the rest is seats:nervous: . I thought it was ok then but I dont know how I'd take to it now. I was on the dancefloor the whole time though. The sound was good from what I remember too. |

ON THE DECKS
John Digweed BEDROCK, U.K.
If you're not an avid follower of dance music but are tuned into popular culture at all you've likely experienced music touched by the hands of John Digweed.
John Digweed is a DJ's DJ. The beauty of what he does lies in just how different he really is from his contemporaries. From his early beginnings in Hastings, England at the age of 15 in the blossoming scene of acid house to the apex of the international dj'ing world he has created and maintained a level of integrity that is the benchmark for both dj's and producers globally. In fact, he has reached the very top of his profession, being voted #1 in a voter's poll by DJ magazine in 2001. John Digweed has become the people's choice while maintaining his longstanding presence in underground dance culture. His popularity as both a dj and a person seems to have no limits, but his efforts to transcend dj'ing alone, he is as much a producer and promoter.
Digweed is both solid and durable with unyielding precision. His sinuous dj'ing and production sound has become its own convincing dance ethic. He is centered to the principles of life, living and friends in such a way that he generates an aura of self-explanatory excitement and enthusiasm.
Without heroic pretensions his sets are filled with moodiness and musical mystery but held down with a punchy distinctiveness and earthly rhythm. Always emanating a sense of boundlessness he overlaps dream events that spill into reality with an enormous certainty.
An Exclusive DJ set from Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland of
The Crystal Method ULTRA, U.S.A.
The bright, neon lights of Las Vegas can be heard within the rumbling breakbeats and metal-edged synth melodies of the duo known as the Crystal Method.
Together Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland steer their custom vehicle of electronic music into riffs of futuristic rock 'n' roll. Taking the elements associated with the U.K.'s big beat generation, the Crystal Method enhances this style of stomping funk with a pinch of American spice.
Perhaps a crude simplification, Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland - the Crystal Method ' have been described as the USA's answer to the Chemical Brothers. They relocated from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in 1989 after working on vocal house tracks but having become increasingly interested in underground, non-vocal dance music. The Crystal Method's sound is a hybrid of 70s funk and disco samples (from artists such as Stevie Wonder and Isaac Hayes) and dense layers of percussion and synthesized loops.
Special Laptop Symphony Set
BT NETTWERK, U.S.
BT has been a major force in pushing the boundaries of electronic music from his early collaborations with Deep Dish in the early 90's, right up to his first Nettwerk release, "Movement in Still Life", released last year. With pioneering production techniques, BT's initial inklings leaned towards a more atmospheric, celestial brand of progressive house featured on his debut record "IMA" and the sophomoric release "ESCM". Both elevated him to the coveted role of electronic music icon and helped to pioneer and refine the sound that has become dance music for the masses. Unpredictably eclectic and consistently class, "Movement in Still Life" pushed BT into the lexicon of innovators in electronic music that are able to amazingly span across both mainstream and underground culture simultaneously.
