PvD: gay or god? (pg. 8)

| Here's my opinion. A dj is a dj when you just spin records on the board. You are just labeled a dj, because all you do is play music at clubs to get people going. However, one gets the label "good dj" when he spins records at clubs and gets 300+ in a large dancefloor going. The dj gets good remarks from his patrons about his style of music, mixing, and selections. The label "god dj" is a special label, in my opinion. Anywhere in the world (Africa, Asia, NA, SA, Europe), if his name shows up at a big club and the flyer says he is going to do a two hour set, everyone would be raving about how they would have a good time. They don't even have to be at the event to taste the music for thirty minutes to get an opinion on how they would like the rest of their day. They see the dj is performing, and they know great music would be bouncing at the club. The dj can also charge triple the price for entrance, and people wouldn't care about the price. They want to hear his selections and get moving all night long. Does PVD do this? Yes he does. Everywhere. Is he gay? Don't know. You have to ask him yourself. |

I cant believe it.
Is the fact of being Gay something negative? You should respect more gay people. i cant believe that we are in europe in the 21st century and the word gay or homo is still used for negative calificative.
I know some might say i'm taking it too seriously but we gays are tired already of this |

| i just would like to say that i was not downplaying or insulting any gays or misusing the defintion of gay as an "outcast of the regular society in the world". i am not gay, however, i see people as how they act and what their true characteristics are deep inside their soul. it does not matter who is gay or not, because it does not change who that person is. it really doesn't matter if pvd is gay or not. if he's gay, then woo-hoo!! go him for being the next new person coming out of the closet. if not, then woo-hoo!! oh well... it doesn't matter if he's gay or not. he's still a very good dj. |

~bleh.. i got nothing against gay ppl and this is thread is not for bashing gay ppl. again, it was supposed to be a joke. if you're that serious, interpret the question as: 'Do you like Paul van Dyk's music? yes/no'
we came to the interesting conclusion that 50% of TA's doesn't like PvD, haha, that's what I like in TA: people have good taste :p
he still has great mixing skills though
also interesting to see that a thread with the name of a big dj, and the word 'gay' in the title is everything that you need to make a thread to last two and a half months plus having more than a thousand views :stongue: |

i agree with you, i am not gay but i don't think it is ok to misuse the word. If the thread was supposed to mean is PVD gay as in homosexual or god, then it would be a diffrent story. But it was used in the sense Gay as in crappy or no good or whatever. I know that everyone in this thread probably doesn't have a problem with gays and is rather indiffrent, but it is still offensive to those who are in fact gay.
now i have a question alpro54: is it also offensive to call someone you don't like a 'fag'? I am wondering because i don't associate 'fag' with gay people because it is also offensive i am sure, but would it be politically correct in the gay community if i called someone else a fag because i thought they were stupid? |

It was all good till he rescheduled from an event i was headed to a week ago...........he "supposedly" had food poisoning a month b4 the event which is the reason he couldn't make it (prolly cause he didnt get paid enough)
oh well BT showed up and I like him better than Pvd. |
