So how the hell did you all get Trance?

I think for me it was just gradual exposure that built up to what turned into an addiction, so to speak.

Through the Thunderdome series.
Endlesswave
Through two Tiesto livesets a friend lent me (I never really liked em when I firsd heard them, Tiesto @ Trance Energy 2000 and Innercity 2000) and then it just hit me and I had to get more tunes like that. I'm still into trance but also variety of other genres, prog, breaks, some prog house, tech trance (Marko V style) etc. (I was into drum and bass and experimental electronic music before trance).

I discovered a love for electronic music quite early and I used to listen to eurodance when I was younger -- y'know, the real stuff... Emjay, La Bouche, Real McCoy, Haddaway, etc. :p

Then I heard stuff like Robert Miles and even Eiffel 65 and thought "this is cool". I didn't know what it was but I liked it. One day I found Atomic Dance Explosion on MP3.com (I'm sure I'm not the only one) and I knew at that time I'd found the music I wanted to listen to.

After that I spent a good period browsing MP3.com, discovering what sounds I liked, what I didn't like. Once I got Napster on a friend's recommendation the game was on and I came across, through various means, artists like Blank & Jones, ATB, System F, Rank 1, Gouryella, PvD, Tiesto, Chicane, DJ Sakin, etc. Since then my taste has expanded and become refined somewhat but I can't see myself ever completely abandoning my trance roots.

Well when I first got a burner, I made a dance cd, that had atb, eiffel 65, vengaboys, aqua etc.
But out of those I definately loved atb's sound. From there I found blank and jones and other more cheesy producers. Stay there for a while. Until I finally got into tiesto, thrillseekers, solar stone, chicane and others. it is pretty funny when I listen to all the crazy cheese tunes I once loved. I still like them, but the feelings trance gives me is far from these songs.
