| What would parts of Ferry Corsten's work would you say was mixing, producing, or remixing? Also, which of these three types of work (I realize there are more, feel free to add them too since I didn't) that is done by him is your favorite? |

Right on :toothless , his System F guise is what made his as well, as the moonman one. Even his older "Ferr" stuff is good. :) |

My appreciation of Ferry has gone directly up with time. I was never a fan of his 'older' productions and remixes. Okay, I'll admit it: I even thought they were cheesy. The only exceptions were Carte Blanche (which, well, everyone liked), Tenshi (which had Tiesto in it), and Albion (which was totally unlike anything else he made at the time, and still a favorite of mine).
And then there was Needlejuice. Then Exhale. In retrospect these should have been indicators.
BAM! Dance Valley Theme 2001, which I consider one of his best and most innovative works. Then Punk, undoubtedly a revolutionary production.
Could the streak continue? Oh yes. Indigo. Oh holy lord, Indigo. *passes out* |

| I like all of ferry's stuff his older stuff his newer stuff and now he's even trying different styles aswell as still churning out the epicy melodic style he's so well known for, he's done some poor stuff but so have a lot of producers but there is few producers who have made as many good tunes as ferry there is some yes but not many who have made as many dance floor destroying tunes as ferry |

Ferry!!!! He is simply amazing... I had actually never seen him live before I went to Exit on 4/11/03, simply tore the roof off. Never seen, felt, or heard anything like it since. Seriously though, I feel he is amazing in all areas!
Mixing is excellent, never heard a single mistake in any liveset nor when I saw him live. He's a hoot to watch when he DJs cause he has so much energy and gets the crowd going!
Remixing, ummm... two examples of past and current which show his intelligence, William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix) and Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams (Ferry Corsten Remix)... both excellent excellent remixes.
Production... well, System F - Out of the Blue, Ferry Corsten - Punk, Albion - Air, and all his collaborations... Gouryella, Veracocha, etc.
Need we say more? This man has contributed so much to the trance scene, it's unbelievable! :D |

Ferry Corsten IMO is an icon in trance. His productions are landmarks in trance, yet they all sound very similar...seems like his style hasn't changed very much over the years, and lately his remixes and productions are getting somewhat mediocre i.e Indigo...I can't take this song seriously. Same signature bassline, a very flat breakdown, and an uninspired melody.
His spinning is two sided as well...something like the Tim Duncan of trance DJing, he sticks to basic mixing of tracks, no real cool tricks or creative stuff. Track selections seems to be solid, yet sometimes stale(big tune after big tune...)I've yet to see him live, and I'm sure that he's awesome in real presence.
Other than that, I loved Punk, his remix of Barber's Adagio for Strings, Gouryella, and many others. |

| ferry corsten is simply the best. he's my top dj not because of djing skills and tricks but because of his energy. i saw him live twice this year already and he tore the roof off everytime. he is so energetic and fun to watch when he's spinning the crowd just feeds off of it. production wise....i love all of gouryella, system f, moonman tunes, and not to mention punk and indigo. remixing wise his remix of sweetest dream is currently my favorite. ferry corsten is simply the best in the business. |

| I think both his productions and his remixes are good, at least most are. The fact that their sound is similar doesn't really matter IMO |

| damn Ferry is crazy amazing . Love his productions (Punk, one of my favs), remixes, and sets. I remember when I first found out System F was one of his aliases, and I was like no way :eyes:. Then I found out he was behind Gouryella and once again was shocked and amazed at how one person could create such awesome and diverse tracks :tongue2 |
