hey... When did TA turn into Tribe?
Since we don't have any 'official policy' about posting events on this board, I don't think that's a fair comment. I often bump party threads to the top (that I have no vested interest in and don't even plan to go to) just for the sake of reminding people that there's something going on that day, should they be looking for something to do.
I really hope we don't turn into Tribe with regards to that matter, cuz its nice to post links about parties in other cities, and the smaller underground parties, etc... And it would have to be enforced on all the forums, not just the TO forum.

With respect to tribe, that's one area they handle very well - if you're going to use a messageboard to promote an event then also have the courtesy of putting the logo on the flyer - it works both ways.
I'm very lenient on this sort of stuff - how many threads in Music Discussion are for other sites broadcasting/doing stuff? I have no problem with that, it promotes the scene - but I can ASSURE you that if others were to go on those same sites to promote themselves/their site that they wouldn't last very long. Shady, but, back on topic:
It is one thing to bump a thread that is for an event that you aren't promoting - but when you bump your own thread within 2 days of its initial post - (and the event is still 7+ days away) - it is only a sign of more *bumps* to come.
I have no problems with events being posted once and then to leave it be - if they want it stickied then put the ta logo on... |
