| Be happy you don't live in Quebec. We have no-fault insurance, so even if it isn't your fault, your insurance premiums go up :( |

Because the answer to that question is "get into a car, turn on ignition, shift to drive (clutch then gear if you're manual) and gas" |
Haha, I wasn't talking about driving without a license or insurance... I was talking about loopholes to reduce insurance costs. Accounts do it all the time in business, it should be no surprise that you can do it with cars too. |

3 people with liscenses, thus each person has to be first driver on one car.I'm first driver on a 1994 Mercury Sable and it costs $5000 a year even though I went to driving school, have a clean driving record & my car isn't even worth $5000.
What a ing scam. |
whoa, and here i thought i had it real bad... i'm paying 2400/year as first driver on a 88 honda crx, and (somewhat :D ) clean driving record... how old are you though?
anyways, whats funny is that i remember when my dad used to work in Charlotte, NC, he was paying something like 200 US every 6 months on a brand new buick skylark... bah! |

I've actually been looking for an insurance company for two weeks now, and the lowest quote I got (first driver) on a '94 Probe GT was $5900+tax, totaling almost $7K everything included, and that was for the worst coverage. I've got a clean driving record + driving school cirtificate. I can't even begin to fathom what I would've been paying if I had ever gotten into an accident.:nervous: :eyes:
Being an unmarried male under 25 rules:rolleyes: |

| I pay around $1400 a year or so as a 3 driver for insurance on the 2000 Accord... what pissed me off the most is that a week after we got the car, some moron hit my car in the parking lot and took of and now it will cost $500 at least if not more to get it fixed... and I don't even know who did it... i hope the bastard rots in hell!!! |

Insurance companies in Canada in general are theifs.
Losing money, common do people really beleive that? think about it?
In Poland, when a car is insured, they do not look at your driving
record at all! all they do is insure the car based on it's engine
size (per L) and it's class, and it's a lot cheaper!, anyone can
drive that insured car, and is insured in and so are the passangers.
You can say that in Canada a lot of people scam their insurance
companies, but you really think they don't do that else where?
US has lower rates as well, and they're not losing money, how ironic
The only good news I hear is a romour that the guvernment is planning
to do something about this matter.
Another funny thing is when you get a ticket without points, it's not
supposed to go against you when you're applying for insurance ...
well it does, which is pointless why bother settling for no points
and lower payment
I don't drive anymore, I got tired paying more for my insurance then
my car. |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, glad I'm a girl!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, glad I have a Northern Ontario "address"!
But nonetheless, insurance rates suck ass. I mean how long do you have to wait for them to trust you enough to lower your rates. But the time I'm 25, I will be driving for 9 years. No accidents, just two speeding tickets that were very long ago. And still, the insurance is the same. Fortuantely, my car is quite old, and therefore not worth much so insurance is quite cheap, like 1/8 of what some of these quotes you guys are getting. |
