What a thread.
Personally I was quite confused when I read the post cause I have mixed feeling towards Trance & Hindi music.
I love trance & I am a very proud Indian.
I have to give credit to Hindi Music cause thats where I make most of my money from[I play at a lot of marriages at which 99% of the music played is Hindi]
In my opinion there used to be a clear divide between club music and pop or any other type of music. But in the last few years all sorts of music has started being played at clubs.........from pop to hip hop to Hindi over here.
I like Hindi music[especially the old stuff remixed] but I do feel it has its place. It is great in marriages, receptions,Holi and Dilwali dances etc. but I do feel it should be kept out of the club scene[as should hip hop & POOP...sorry POP ;)]
As for trance I could talk bout it all day long.
Now hindi music is normally very commercial sounding[esp with the Dhol Beats put into some of the remixes] which is very different from the undergroundish sounds of Trance;so when I read that trance mixes of Hindi tracks were played by PVD I didn't know what to make of it.
Immediately my mind raced back to a track called The Sun - Marc Aurel.
It also has a Hindi verse in it and it went so well with the track.....it just blew me away.A trance track with Hindi vocals...WOW.
The Hindi tracks PVD has played dont sound trancy at all so I am curious to hear what The God himself has done with them.I he has made them anything like Marc Aurel's track then I'm all for it.If he has commercialized his sound then I'm not too keen on it.Knowing him he must have done a fantastic job.
Overall I'm thrilled to bits cause PVD has spun Hindi.Hell how would you guys feel if PVD droped a tune in your language over a trance b-line.........top of the world right.
I managed to catch PVD live last December in Mumbai.Words cannot describe how well he played. The best party I've ever been to in my life. All the Djs that normally come to Mumbai are Psy Trance Dj's...[I'm not into Psy that much] so PVD was a real treat. The way he mixed the first track into the warm up Djs last track itself was worth the entry money.
He played Outhere which along with For An Angel is my Fav track of his.I've never heaard of him playing it in any of the tracklists I've gone through of his sets so I went bonkers when he dropped it.
He played the Addictive Mix which is a stomper in itself but I didn't think I went with the flow of the set.But what the hell,we were just goin insane cause PVD-The King Of Trance played a Hindi track especially for us.What more could one ask for.
I think someone said he mixed it live but that was not the case.I have the mix lying around somewhere.
Bottom line is he spun Hindi or his show and we Indians are feeling great. So give us our moment.
As a trancer I hope PVD's still keepin the sound real.
I'd like everyone to chill out a bit.
Dancin & Prancin..Music is the Answer .....To Your Problems.....Gotta Keep On Movin.
Any updates on the set please keep me posted as I'm dying to hear this. |

.......not to defend or criticise anyone over here, but Mikey isn't 'dissing' anyone or creating an argument...he's just stating an opinion.....there's no reason for him to start his own thread when what he's saying (whether you agree with it or not) is relevant to THIS thread. And even if is he is dissing the show...... go with what LordTranceaLaut said....have fun with it, and just let it be. |
Jeezy Crizzy!!! WTF has this thread degenerated into?? Obviously no one read the what I posted above three days ago. You wanna flame someone - fine! But this is just friggin' retarded. All that you guys are doing now is making everyone who reads this thread either anti-Indian or anti-anyone who's not Indian (depending on who u are)......and over what - a goddamned PVD set that happens to have Hindi music in it!!??? Can't any of you pre-pubescent kids keep your emotions a little bit in check? 'Coz if you can't, then you (whether you're Indian or not) most definitely are a 'tard'! |

:whip: bad PvD!
i just got this set and i must say it was absolutely horrible... first off i'm probably sure that the original indian songs were probably better than the cheezy trance remixes in this set...i've heard way better indian music than what he played and it was equivalent to modern electronica... i'm just glad he didn't play that punjabi mc song or whatever is called... last thing i need to hear is bhangra... if i never here bhangra again it will be too soon |
