| I've always liked Oakey and I'll tell you why: he changes styles a lot and is good at all of them. He used to spin acid in the early days, then goa (my favorite style from him), and now he's on to newer styles. Basically, he tends to set trends in the trance world and builds on existing ones. I believe the only reason he's going a bit more commercial now is to bring trance to more peoples' ears. Trance is the best music and the more people that get exposed to it and start liking it, the better. |

I read ur post dick. How interesting would this board be if we all agreed??? To a lot of ppl on this board, Oakie is God. I just think if u've been exposed to more DJ's u'll think differently. Not U in particular, I'm just sayin in general. I used to like Oakie. Oakie is like weed, a gateway to other DJ's/Genres. |

| I like oakenfold because I try to take his music at face value, I don't care if he's trying to become a ROCKSTAR. I will keep listening to him as long as he makes good music, when he stops making good music I will stop listening. |

| yeah ppl oakie kix ass!!i love him..but then i like all the commercial cheese dj's (not sayin he is) like jules and rampling(BRITISH YAY)but oakie is definitley better than them |

thank you for explaining this Oakenfold drama series101, even though I have seen almost everyone I had ever wanted to see, Oakie is my fav, I like him because every set that I have seen him play or that I have heard he just Knows how to run a crowd, SORRY that he does'nt play all of that RAVE trance that all TranceAddict's are into, but I have 89 live sets of his on CD, saw him 5 times and especially the Gatecrasher crowd is all I have to say. Yes, Tiesto,Armin,PVD,Ferry thay are all Greats but they all have there own types of trance and Oaki's kind of Progress really moves me, My opinion Paully is king of Club Genre & he is about to take over the world,lol If you relly think about it< He really does'nt like to be passed around like a ty joint so stop talkin and let him do his thing,

| Oakenfold is a great DJ, but he is definately not the best. I saw his show at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York last Thanksgiving and had a ball, but it was is no comparison to the amazing 6 hour PvD sets at Twilo. PvD is hands down the best DJ in the world right now. I saw him at Innercity and have experienced his last 5 sets at Twilo, and they have simply been amazing. His track selection is far superior to that of Oakenfold's. Oakenfold is a great Dj, but he can no longer be conisdered the best, especially after all the stories of him not showing up on time, and his spinning for less than two hours, he is engrossed in the idea of making money rather than pleasing his fans. It seems his attitude needs to change before he can be on top again. |

| Oakenfold used to be good, a couple of years ago. His essential mix world tour was dope but now he has lost it. Paul Van Dyk is the king and will always be the king. |

Oakie..well umm...Ive never seen him. But I do want to(so come back to Calgary) He dropped a sweet assed set when he was here last..him and Max Graham..Nice . Do I think hes the best? No, but its not cuz I dont think hes good. Its cuz thats not my style.
While we are all TAs, we all vary in style and preference...just cuz hes not your doesnt mean he is ...so dont knock him, cuz he deserves alot of props from all of us! |

oakie pretty much invented acid house didnt he? i maybe way off on this dont flame me.....
i think oakenfold rulez....just cause he isnt AS good as PVD or somat doesnt mean he is bad...perfecto presents another world:amazing!

well to some people he may not be a good DJ like Tiesto or PVD but he is one of the BEST produces out there..i dont know what it is about him that when he makes a remix..HE makes it absolutely phenominal ..i like his style more than alot of other produces who like to copy each other..his Swordfish soundtrack is awesome..especially afrika bambaataa & the soul sonic - planet rock (p.oakenfold rmx)
..also his remix of children is pure quality. |

Oakie has been alwayz considered 2 me at da top of da list, i cant say he's da best cause there's so many dj's but no doubt about dat he's 1 of da most talented dj's and producers..lately his mixes have been da same, same songs but different remixes of it. Oakie was busy during dis year coz he was producing da Swordfish soundtrack. Da musik in da movie just en rocks. fits da movie perfectly. propz 2 Oakie. lately ive been listening 2 PVD and i think he's gonna be da number 1 dj dis year. i mean he has 2!!! his track selection is awesome and his mixes r alwayz different. but PVD and Oakie spin 2 different kind's of trance..PVD spins hard german trance usually and Oakie spins psychadelic which is my 2nd fav :) Oakie is a sleeping giant dat will wake up 1 day and become again #1 :)
