Proposal to Change Union Jack to Combat Racism

This, in my opinion, pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with political correctness - focussing on and nitpicking over superficial specifics and completely ignoring the underlying problem. Call me cynical, but I don't believe that changing the colour-scheme of a 400 year old flag is likely to fix the much more ancient problem of racism.

| It's almost like hate crimes in America. Sure, people get punished because of their hate for a minority, yet the minority feels more like a minority because of hate crime laws. They feel as though they get special treatment or something. That new flag change is definitely politically incorrect. |

If i did happen, then the racist groups would just use the old flag to their advantage.

I agree, it would be like in the Southern US with the Confederate flag. |

The odd thing about that is that I think I read a while back that even some black southerners don't want the confederate flag removed. They associate it with the South and they consider themselves southerners or something like that. |
