my point was that the name of the event is offensive to ppl who are not gay or lesbian. Again, i don't have any proof, just IMO, i think the organizers should just go with "THE LOVE PARADE" because i doesn't discrimenate. As u said, the parade is against discrimination so u might as well just stretch it a bit and not emphasize on the word gay or lesbian.

this is not coming from a homophobe. This is coming from a person who thinks that everyone is entitled to do any and everything they are cabable of doing. As long as u feel good doing it (no pun intended)

I wasn't trying to imply that you are a homophobe, but i don't se what your problem is re: pride. it's one day in a year that ppl of all different sexual orientations can express themselves surrounded by ppl supporting them, God knows many of my friends have experineced discrimination and harrassment and deserve to be able to celebrate their sexuality!

Hey Tara, I totally saw you and waved like a madwoman at you but you were too busy blowing your bubbles. Anyways I had a great time but next year I wanna be on a float or sitting down on the roof of a building, my legs were killing me from standing trying to look over really tall people (which I don't understand why, always push their way to the front even if they can see over everyone anyways).

:( iknow... sadly ur right. I know the idea is there for celebrating sexuality but it would be been nicer if us straights could celebrate too. And the point i'm trying to get at is that it's pointless to celebrate that ur "straight" sexualy in a "gay" parade opposed to celebrate that ur "straight" sexualy in a "love" parade.

get my point? lol

I get your point i just don't agree with it. Straight sexuality is celebrated on a daily basis in mainstream media. Straight ppl haven't had to fight for the right to be treated equally, they haven't been harrassed and don't require a massive parade of ppl to show that staright sexuality is supported. after the parade there were ppl on the street who were yelling about how gay ppl were going to be punished, and there were ppl who gave us the finger on our way back to the school- straight ppl don't expereince this. i don't see why you have to be so against having one day out of the year to celebrate and support non-hetero sexualities. there were tons of straight ppl out having an amazing time partying and supporting the event who didn't seem to have a problem with it.

get my point?

Seriously? i was so looking in the crowd fo ppl i knew and i never saw anyone. i guess i was pretty busy blowing bubbles and being the biggest camera whore ever. I would say that way over 100 pics were taken. i'm glad you came out tho, would have been fun to meet up for the steert party...next year?

this is a new things for ppl... no matter how open minded u really are, nature has rules. Rules that are based by laws and relegion, civilzation and customs. When u go around changing these laws, everything else changes. We souldn't expect everyone to take this light heartedly cuz it's a major issue that will change our future. The majority of the ppl obviously don't care that's why u don't see an anti pride parade... Anyway, i don't expect everyone to agree with it. i'm for one don't 100% support the gay parade not for what it stands for but rather fo what ppl will interepret it to be.
