Review: Promise party @ Cherry Beach

The 1st Promise party at Cherry Beach this summer, and by far the best Promise beach party I've ever attended!!! Got there close to 6pm, and arrived just as the drum band was finishing. Damn! Quickly found RyanM and his crew, and made my rounds greeting the masses of people I knew there. Intergalactic Fairy Funk did a live PA next, which was cool, cuz I heard such good things about their set at Om festival, which I missed cuz I was sleeping at the time. Then Jelo went on and drpped a techno-edged set, and played Vitalic-Pony EP, & Dariush- Ira. After him, Ner (Nair?) played an mp3 psytrance set off a laptop. There was a troupe of incredible poi fire jugglers, and 3 stilt walkers who made an appearance. My group of people were probably the envy of the party, as we came with a full roasted chicken, full bottle of Cuban rum to mix with coke, and other treats. We wished it never had to end.
Didn't see any fireworks displays from where we were sitting tho. :(
Promise threw these events every Sun. afternoon last summer- I highly recommend u check one of them out. |

| sorry I didnt make out to this Nat, my legs were so sore yesterday I could barely walk when I got home.. It's gonna be interesting coming to system on friday for the meetup after work.:conf: :conf: |

| Wow all I can say was that this was so much fun. Got there around 5 pm and there was some wicked house music pumping through the speakers. The drumming group was fantastic as well. What else could one as for -- very sunny location, a great view of the city, great music, and drinking beer (mmmmmm beer). There was about 300 people there, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and chilled. If this happens again definitely going to head down there. Saw Nat and a bunch of her friends but then left around 9:30 so we could go see the fireworks at Ashbridges Bay which were good as well. Nat thanks for the chicken. It was great. |
