2010 coast to coast roadtrip anyone..?

May be Vancouver is just a better city then Toronto jk!!!

I think it is great they won, it makes so much sense for Vancouver to win, they have the complete deal.

I do not know so much politcs is in IOC that it will be difficult for toronto win it any time soon.

NYC will probably get it for 2012 for sept 11th, plus they have the facilties to host it.

2020 looks most likely. Summer olympics are also more competitive then winter as more countries can host them.

I think Brazil or Latin America should host them some time. World cup in 2012 in brazil, yah!

sorry to burst your bubble guys, but there's no way that IOC awards 2 olympic games in a row to the same continent let alone the same country.

Rumour was that the European members awarded to Vancouver the olympics because they want to award the 2012 olympics to an European city.

I surely hope not. Why would you want to win out of pity? That's not something that would bring me any pride.

Damn straight. As for the World Cup, Brazil's pretty much guaranteed to get it at least for 2014. It will be held in South America, and the other S. American countries are backing up Brazil, so it's looking good!
With 2010's Cup, Brazil will get that if no African country can come up with the organizational or financial resources to host the event.

The olympics are all about greater ideas then the sports, Vancouver bid was covered in a veil of Diversity. Korea was unification of the Korean penisula and better relations with the North. World cup in Japan and Korea was jointed hosted so both could grow closer together. NYC has the stuff to put it on, but they will probably sell the games as something about world peace or rising from the ashes of sept 11.

Brazil is guaranteed 2014 by the sheer fact that Africa gets 2010 and they want to rotate it among the regions. In latin America not many countries could host it, Brazil, Chile and Aregentina are the only ones that i could think of hosting it.

As long as the final is in rio de janeiro, i am happy :)

Canada vs Brazil final hahahah

Yeah, and now Chile and Argentina are trying to do a joint bid. I still say it goes to Brazil. (The preceeding was a totally unbiased opinion. :D:o)

This was already mentioned. However, you seem to forget that NYC has been "the centre of the world" since the 9/11 attacks. NYC has the infrastructure, the power, the money, and the sympathy of the world to win the bid for 2012. Sure the IOC very rarely awards the Games to the same continent consequtively but with the focus on world peace, NYC stands a good chance to win the 2012 bid.

have a look at their site if you want http://www.nyc2012.com/
