Well at the risk of going against everybody's opinion, I must say I disagree with all of this crap. Hackers are like spammers to me, they are meant to annoy and disturb. Just imagine if you were workin for one of the companies who gets hacked, you dont bug anybody and just wanna work your damn day and go home, but this one single 15 yr old geek could make this day a nightmare, just for the fun of bragging about it to his friends. I don't think you'd find it so amusing being in the skin of that guy..
These people are simply asking for it, and they deserve a taste of their own medicine .. darn kidz :whip: :whip: :whip: |

Some hackers do serve a good purpose , as there do inform big companies about there security flaws, h4x0rs will always exist , just gotta deal with it, i think companies like RIAA are asking for it, there gonna get DDoS attack, and then someone is gonna arse wipe there homepage and there network ,lhahahahah |

Not that it was particularly technically correct, but they did hit on one very effective but under used technique - misdirection.
We're not quite sure who the people who are organising this are, it all started on a private channel on undernet according to the grapevine, so its hard to do more than speculate, but the rumour circulating amongst those in the know right now is that this is all a diversion for some heavy duty intrustions planned on some specific systems belonging to the US DOD....

They've been probing my ports and pinging me all day. Over 12,000 hits logged by my firewall when I checked after I got home from work today.
This gets old quick. I've pinged them, scanned them, reported them to hackerwatch.org to no avail. |

I think he is the best if He's good as he was in hackers 2-movie. True hacker can hack without computer like he did in the movie. I wanna learn to hack systems.. I would be fun to read those goverments "secret" files. |

So all the news about when he was allowed to use a computer again, the first sites he visited, all of the work he's recently done for companies is just a lie? He's allowed to use computers again. :rolleyes:
Oh, and the word 'hacker' is thrown around incorrectly. Breaking into systems is cracking. Hacking is actually going around the rules to get something to work (as a basic definition). Most true hackers aren't malicious, and write various programs and stuff or play with the code of an existing program to get it to do things it wasn't originally intended to do (hence the whole Open Source model). But I'm going to end up diving too deep into the subject if I keep going on. The media has just blown that word way out of it's actual context. Quite sad.
Oh, and Mitnick was more Social Engineering than anything. Granted he cracked a little bit, but I'd say 90% of his work was done without actual cracking. |
