BT - Emotional Technology (pg. 3)

Pop just as "pop" is not a true musical genre.. it is about the same like what "techno" is to ppl who don't know anything about electronic music, trance, etc.

As for the BT album, i have listened the previews many times and most tunes on it have grown on me so much i will buy it, at least to fulfill my BT collection. These tunes definately need a few times to grow on ppl, very different from what most of us were waiting for. I knew it would be different though.

I read one BT's interview earlier this year so I sort of knew what was coming... was a bit sceptical after reading that interview and those samples are just like final nails in the coffin... This is the first BT album I'm not going to buy.

Anyway, diversity isn't the issue here. Based on those samples I would say Movements In Still Life has more diversity. The issue here is that BT is nowadays making weak pop rock and pop dance and that sort of music isn't my cup of tea. If I wanna listen to guitar based rock I rather listen to older Radiohead. And besides BT's singing isn't that great either but each to their own. Regarding Bunkka, I've have never listened to it cos the singles from that album were so bad. I have absolutely no interest in albums that have songs like Starry Eyed Surprise. To quote Austin Powers, that sort of thing isn't my bag, baby...

I agree with you totally, Starry Eyed Surprise is a song, BUT the rest of the album is really good, I advise you to give it a chance, Starry Eyed Surprise was the first track I heard before the album came out and I trying to figure out why Oakenfold was making music like that, But then I heard the rest of the album and I was blown away, I love every track on Bunkka except for Starry Eyed Surprise

It's a collab. with WOW, so no difference... Plus, that version you have is probably the 'old' version with the older vocals, etc etc... The track was redone.

I love the CD, love it, love it, love it... Been waiting the longest for this and now, it's almost here!!
Samples are very narrow, and don't really carry out the build-up of the song. So please, don't put all your judgment on these samples...

Secondly, there are 2 places for samples a) http://www.briantranseau.com (30 Second Samples)
http://www.nettwerk.com/emotionaltechnology (30 Second Samples)

Each site has different cuts ;)

It's true, this CD is not meant for most TranceAddicts on here, so I wouldn't be surprised if you guys started putting it down...but as most people said, this music isn't specified in a 'single' music genre. Just like Movement In Still Life, most the tracks on this album are related and are taking off from the same step...Only difference is, BT sings more...way more! (Good for us BT lovers...yet bad for the male vocal haters 'who think of the tune as a pop track' )

One more thing...people with nothing but 'negative' remarks to say... please learn to respect a top quality producer! If you don't like it, that's fine..let's leave it at that..

^ exactly... to really understand the CD as a whole, and find out if you truly like it or not... BUY IT, listen to it from track 1 to the end..and then if you have the guts to say it's not as good..I'd probably have greater respect for your opinion...but for now........ shh!! August 5th:) :) :) :) :eyes: :) :) :) :happy2:

As a Trance or Electronica Album, this albumm fails miserably. If it was meant to be in this genre of music then all aspects of every song is filled with cheese.

If it was meant as a Pop album, then this album is a success. Popsy tunes and commercial feel to every track.

Don't get me wrong here I think it's a decent album and i actually like some of the tracks, but it definitely does not fit any other genre of music besides the pop genre and has nothing to do with electronica in the least.

That's my verdict and I'm sticking with it.

I have to agree here. Granted, I haven't listened to every song in full... but from the samples I don't see what the fuss is about. Somnambulist and Paris are alright, but otherwise it is all over the place.
