there is no such law that states glow sticks arnt aloud in clubs. but on the other hand, clubs are banning them because it does attract un-wanted attention from the law. many big club around the US are being shut down for to much drug activity and the Law does consider glow sticks as drug paraphernalia. |
down here in louisiana, the state palace (aka. heaven on earth)got shut down cause of the Rave Act law. when they finally open you could'nt bring glowstix, pasafiers, any kind of lights, vicks, gum , candy, ect. the law enforcment said if they saw any of this stuff that they would shut shop again. all we have now are memories of the old school. |

glow sticks are not banned by law. it was proposed in the rave act that they be considered pharaphenlia (along with water) but they removed that line realizing that their heads are up their asses. but the rave act got approved and they have been using it to shut down events, regardless of whether there are glowsticks there or not.
my favorite club in new york banned glowsticks a while ago and it had nothing to do with the law. it started cause danny teneglia is a whiny Queen and gets pretty much whatever he wants in that space on his night there (Fridays). but now you cant have them saturdays as well. it is mostly because security uses flashlights to communicate and the glowsticks interfere but also cause it interferes with the lighting scheme. and frankly, i'm glad cause GLOWSTICKS ARE ING ANNOYING! |

I like glowsticks, and I think for anyone to ban them is a violation of one's Freedom of Expression, and this can be easily overturned in court.
Our government spends too much damn time trying to control our lives instead of focusing on real problems. I don't think we're such a free country after all.
 |

that is BS. if you are entering a privately run establishement you need to follow their rules. if they choose not to allow something for whatever reason you should respect it.
that doesnt necessarily mean that some of their rules are retarded (for expample, DT decided not to allow cellphones on fridays at arc), but if you dont like the rules your option is not to go there anymore. |

so where can I go if glowsticks are banned nationwide?
Besides, *your* argument is BS.
For example, at Jewish Community Centers (JCC) around the country, it was customary to only let the Jews in, until blacks took this to court and the court agreed that, even though JCC is a private institution, it has no right to discriminate against anyone.
Or when that guy wearing a Peace shirt walked into a mall in NYC and they forced him to leave because he didn't satisfy the rules of that "private" institution -- that was also BS, and the court agreed. |
