dunno about the pop thing.. but when he played here in argentina this year he played some deeper dark tracks.

I've never heard anybody mention how he plays like a live band act now a days. i dont know if i was just of the fortunate few who got to see this side of Oakie but it was very fascinating. this was about six months ago and i wasnt let down at all. he spun for about an hour than played on a the keyboards with a guy on the drums and a guy on the guitar. hes definitely a pioneer as far as electronic/trance music go. i wish i got a chance to see the Oakie of the 90's but since i wasnt around back the maybe its better b/c i see him for the DJ that he is now without comparing him to old. Enjoy mate.
