Going to see Oakenfold next week....how good is he now??

| i have seen him about 5 years, and i have to say, that each show has gotten progressively less entertaining. It all depends on the day, and what the crowd is feeling. He will probably play more breaks, and very few trance anthems, or uplifting tracks, a lot of the he plays now has a more pop music feel to it, and a lot of deeper darker tracks. More techno and bass than trance. His talent is undoubtedly still there, but his taste in music has been sucking, and i would not pay money to see him anymore, which is disappointing because he used to be my personal favorite way back in the day.:( [IMG]D:\Documents and Settings\Brian\Desktop\punch.gif[/IMG] |

Ok, to all the people who says he sucks, are just jumping on the "Oakey sucks bandwagon." If anyone has taken the time out to listen to his Stateside sets, they would definately say he is kicking ass. I've seen him live 5 times. I wouldn't say he was progressively better everytime, because I base a good time on the venue. If the venue is tiny, its gonna suck because of the packed crowd, music might be good, but its just not going to be fun. I saw him in New Orleans about a year ago and he was meant. 3 hours of the best music I've ever heard. The greatest set ever IMO.
If you're going to the San Antonio gig, its gonna be good, I almost guarantee it. It has a 5000+ capacity, therefore a great venue. Their will also be a runway fashion show, should be interesting. D-Fuse will be there, OMG its just going to kick ass.
To answer the question of what to expect: Expect a great time. He knows how to throw down a show. I've always been an Oakey supporter and have always enjoyed his sets. I can't wait til Tuesday, I got VIP tix, hopefully I at least get to meet him and its going to be a kick ass night. Meet up with me if you want...

| I saw him for the first time at the cream opening party @ amnesia this year and was impressed, he played some pretty decent trance music, i'd go see him again, heard some pretty ty reports about him though.. |
