Does anyone else live in a nearby area if not this one, and do you notice that recently there are fewer and fewer raves available to go to? For example, nearly nothing in Maine and NH... I realize there have been some recently passed laws pertaining to the scene but yeah, just wondering if this is a cooincidence or something to really worry about because the scarcity really sucks.

I thought the scene (in Pittsburgh) was dying in general even before the laws were passed ... I'm sure they aren't helping much. At any rate, I would start making the transition over to clubs ... better dj's anyway.

well in toronto....the mid 90's raves were mainstream..then they did what normally happens. Deejays played nightclubs instead and the rave scene went back more underground.

the rave "scene" is still somewhat strong in quebec, you can find a couple of small and underground raves every weekend in montreal, and its not too far from the new england area. Maybe you should define what is a rave for you. is it a party with electronic music with a couple hundred people or a electroni music with a couple of thousand of people at a regular venue :)

In brazil we got a fair amount of raves (at least 3 big ones a mounth) a rave for me is a party with electronic music thats eather outdoors or that is underground (i.e. not really in a club or suported by anyone sept the people putting it on)

Bah ... I hated the rave scene. Half the time promoters could never be trusted and stole your money. I remember finding out that several production companies "booked" a DJ when that DJ was spinning half the country away on the same night ... then they would adopt another name and pull the same all over again.

I guess I should have been more specific... around my family and similar people 'rave' is way TOO specific and their heads explode SO what I meant was, I'm sick of all these hip hop, pop and teen dance clubs where have all the electronic music events gone? (like, any kind of dance music, especially house, trance, techno, happy hardcore, jungle, etc. No crappy dance remixes of pop tunes like the top 40 dance places, eww. people there won't even dance to that stuff, they'll continue grinding as if it's rap like before)
