| I still have mine... never caused me any problems. My dentist told me to have them removed, but he was an idiot. Both my parents never had their's removed, so I figured it was likely I'd be fine as well, and, as usual, I was right. |

I had mine pulled about 4-5years ago. i had both of the top T4's pulled (im not sure if thats the right termonology) and the two bottom T4's pulled out. First they did my left side (top and bottom) and then a week or two later the right side. the guy was pulling on em for ages and said he had never seen teeth this strong before:whip: anyway, the bastard even broke the root of the tooth :whip:
oh yeah, and all i was given was an injection, but no pain killers afterwards :( |

lol what a coincedence, i've had mine removed yesterday aswell, well my right side that is, left side was already removed.
didn't bother me at all, had some injection from a very nice girl , didn't feel a thing, the jawsergeon drilled the last teeth out, it was done at 8 am, and at 4 am next day it was still bleeding :( |

GOOD GOD! i was given general anesthesia and percocets afterward. i had the option of local anesthesia, but i'm absolutely phobic about mouth trauma so i went general. my bleeding stopped within two hours because i was clenching down so hard on the gauze. i can think of very little that i hate more than blood in my mouth.
anyway, i hope the two chipmunks aren't suffering too much! |

my upper two are fairly out now, somewhat half way or maybe all the way... they dont really hurt my jaw or anything like that but they did manage to grow a lil um to the side, which hurts my cheek if i move my jaw sideways
im kinda afraid to get them pulled so im just waiting till it starts to kill me and i really have to do it |

I had mine removed relatively recently. Mine came out sideways. The crown of the tooth was coming out against the side of my last molar. It didn;t always hurt, but when it did , i got super pissed off :toothless
Anyway, cos of that, they can't actually just pull them out. They had to cut through the gum that was covering the roots, drill all the way through them and take them out. Its great fun just sitting there ting yourself as you hear the drill go thorugh your tooth. :p
The top ones came out ok but they had to take them out anyway, and just watching the big ass pair of pliers they use is also lots of fun! The worse is the sound it makes as they pull them out :nervous: :nervous:
and you s don't need painkillers! We aren't given anything. All we are given is antibiotics to stop infection! :D |

Gah, I've got to get four pulled, and soon, but I have to split it up over this year and the next because of crappy dental insurance. |
, I had mine done for free on the great old UKs NHS lol
Maybe explains why all i had for pain relief was codeine & paracetemol plus antiseptic mouthwash
I had it done when i was 18 cos im having surgery on my jaw & my wisdoms (2 of them i still got the others) weren't coming out straight & would have caused more problems) and when i came round from the anaesthetic, it was weird cos i felt something on my lip, rubbed it & was covered in blood lol
It's not too bad tho, was painful but if they really need doing u gotta have it, come over here for it :p |

Buggered if I'm getting mine done.
Dentist told me I'd have to have all 4 of mine out, after seeing an xray.
I told him to off.
3 years later and all 4 are almost up, with no problems. The left hand side of the last one still has to break through, if it doesnt, I'll get a razor blade to the skin.
There's been a small bit of compression in the front teeth... some slightly going behind others etc. But I'll live with it. I'd rather that than some back of money grabbing nazis (face it, dentists are money grabbers) hacking up PERFECTLY GOOD TEETH.
At least this way I'll have 4 spare ones for when I get older and crappy teeth start falling out. :) |
