Oh and please whoever does the booking.. Do it smart.. Dont let the openers Ruin the Headliners sets.. Like on the Above And Beyond Night.. Wanted to throw up.. Couldnt even enjoy Above and beyond's Awsome Intro... which was somewhat proggy with Probspot sound.. Maybe you guys should get some Proggy djs open up for trance headliners.. or at least tell the openers not to THUMP it hard at 145.. (PVD STYLE) hehe.. But deffenetely good trance Djs go there.. I wish that club existed 2 years ago in LA.. when some of us were still into trance.. Good trance that is.. :) OH AND LARRY ROCKS loooooooool

I try to make it when I can. Usually I roll by after midnight with DJ Tranz. This is a club that usually brings in DJ's that I've been getting livesets from for the past couple years.

To the creators of TCH, keep up the great work!!! May it grow to become a popular club venue.:D

hahhaa... dj tranz.. i think he takes pictures near the stage.. i usally take pics for the club every fri and i think hes always right there takin pics too.
too bad you are rollin by after midnight, im tryin to drop bomb new tracks during my sets.. unfortunately my sets are over by 1230 latest, so the headliner has enough time to rock it.

hope to see you out there more.
remember, if you wanna be on the discount list, message me.

thanks for the support! we are working really hard on this club right now.

hahha.. i just took over the bookings of the opening djs.
what happened on above&beyond night, will not be happening again, i will assure you of that.

we arent really gonna turn to proggy openers because it is supposed to be a trance club.

but, i have spoken with all of our headliners and they have all pretty much agreed that openers can't really "ruin" the headliners sets almost no matter what they do.. (unless like A&B night where the dj played like a hard house crazy set)...
most headliners agree that the headliner should have enough great or unreleased tracks that they should be able to take the main set somewhere different.. afterall that is why they are called headliners...

pulser said something really interesting..
he told me, "if I am the headliner and I cannot deliver the main set that people want to hear after an opener, than I did not do my job and should not have been headlining in the first place."

the only DJs where openers should really really matter is maybe the top 5, where you are paying 30-50 bux to see them.. then I agree, a proggry or diff kinda dj should open.
a great example of this done really well is PVDs tours.
PVD is the headliner and he always has Jerry Bonham opening.. that guy brings it! its good, thumping and totally off the wall sometimes, but he gets the crowd super ready and jumping for when PVD comes on, and then Paul does "his thing".

anyway, just rambling...
but when I open, I'm not gonna play "less good" or "whatever" tracks just cuz im opening.. i just make sure to keep it a bit lower volume and not faster than 139-140

openers really have to bring it, because if they don't get the people out on the floor and dancing and in a good mood, the headliner has a strange task to face..

we can all analyze it all we want, but in the end its all just about playing good tracks..
the rules, life is way too short.

:toothless :wtf:

sure to each to their own... but clubs like XL in Amsterdam which is one of the biggest Trance clubs in the world or Glow in DC.. They all start off with progtrance.. sounds such as Markus Schulz might have.. I think its a big factor of TCH.. One huge reason y noone is really going WOW about that place.. And it might also be the veniew.. I am not being negative just tryin to help.. And some djs forget that Djing isnt just about playing good tracks.. its about giving the listeners/dancers a Journey with that set we Djs play.. and that club also lacks that.. but i am sure things are getting better.. And did I say LARRY ROCKS? lol hahaha *HIDES*:D

I agree with both sides on this.. Rman is right most larger trance based clubs still use either prog hours/prog trance to warm the crowd before a full bore trance headliner.

That being said it doesnt make it wrong to have all trance all night, but it does tend to wear a crowd down if 4 consecutive djs ROCK the living outa the place. Its not unusuall for a special night/event to have a seriously rocking lineup that is endless bang, but for most its too much.. As far as running the club itself its usually better to have a slower open to get more ppl in and keep them there a little bit longer than to have ppl bouncing out during the headliner, which i have noticed a little more at THC than at say giant when a mark tabberner opens for a jxl or tiesto.

I personally like larry, he always seems to be having a good time up there :eyes:

She gave us a good example.. Jerry Bonham.. Dark Tribal Progressive House which Thumps the Out of everyone at 125 to 130 by the time he is done.. and PVD starts off with his 135 to 145 as we all know is his Motto.. That becomes a beautiful Night.. but 140 all night .. who can be able to enjoy themselves unless they are ed up from ass to nose.. on Charlie, E and god knows whatever the clubbers take nowdays.. Anyways if you are the person that books i would recomend Jethro or LRCN for an opening slot.. You wont be sorry.. (I wont play at that club though haha I am too cool for it) hahaha *HIDES*
