Uhhh...did you know Spundae started in SF? It was a Sunday night party (hence the name "spun-dae"). I use to go to those parties. The EDM scene is SF is way better.
See I think EDM should be about the music. There should be no hang-ups about appearance. I use to live in SF and in almost every party people were friendly and cordial. Everyone wanted to have a good time.
Now I move down to LA...well to begin w/ sure So Cali (several yrs behind bay area) has a viable EDm scene, but I'm sorry to say the people here are different. Some of the party-goers are so supericial and they think the world revolves around them.
Best example of this....AHP. Sure they might have good Djs now and then, but the crowd is cold and uninviting. As a couple of my friends and I sat down to rest during one show, the people next to us kept commenting about dancers on the floor. They attacked the person's dress...dance moves...etc. What is this...highschool???
I dont know...maybe I'm generalizing, but from 95% of my experiences down here all I see is people hung up on themselves. They'll stare you down...LOL! |

I am with you on this.. Its always been the same thing my friend in LA.. Everyone thinks they are better than others... or they are movie stars... 90 percent of people in LA that are in the scene are all about either drugs or Showing themselves up.. and the 10 percent you want see at AHP or even Spundae nowdays.. You want to see a nice club nice vibe? Go to SUGAR in Santa Monica... Thats what I call a Pure Music Vibe.. But I totally understand you.. There isnt much music appreciation here in LA.. even Promoters of big clubs dont bring Tallents in.. they only bring people with names.. I mean they have to make their money.. but where is the understanding of the good music..? Spundae and Avalon are the major clubs here in LA and once in a while yes they do bring Good tallent.. but thats just very rare.. Sorry for the long.. reply hehe You said what i would say thats y.. :) |
