actually I went last year, and after all the preformers went, inside the club they were throwing down some crazy tribal and prog for a while. but then of course they went back to playing euro, hiphop etc. LOl

also chris sheppard was there, and he was spinning some strangggggee music. I dont know how to describe it, definately not the gino stuff, but more housey. i personally didnt like it though.

Hey people, thanks for welcoming me :)

As for the music being played, I went last year and the year before, and they played some pretty good stuff. Yes I admit a lot of it was stuff other than trance, but I am also into house, techno and jungle too, so it's good for me either way.

It turns out to be a pretty good show, and the environment is really comfortable since you are right on the lake. I am pretty sure I'll be there :)

Obviously most TA's are going to detest Summer Rush...

I went two years ago and it was a lot of fun. I was 16 though
lol... it was fun because I was with all of my friends. The music isn' my favorite, but they do play fun party kinda music, if you know what I mean.

Welcome Theresa... I don't know if I'll be going, but I will be living in Waterloo come September :)

Who organizes this, and is there a link?

I'm leaning toward the belief that it's mostly hip hop, freestyle, or Americanized Eurodance, in which case I would not be attending. I was pretty damn impressed with the Docks after going to Tiesto, though, so I'm interested in at least getting the details. If there's a significant amount of some kind of electronic music (I'm all for trance, jungle, techno, house, etc... variety's the best), then I could just schedule my appearance to see what I'd actually be interested in.

Yeah, it's a commercial event, but it'd be interesting to see what the docks is like when there isn't a superstar DJ...

It's z103 and Pizza Pizza who organize it. I went last year, a superstar dj is WAY better than no superstar dj there. The aren't any real lights, the djs are "ok" it's like going to any regular top 40 club...they had a "house" room last year for over 19...mostly commercial diva type house...no tribal or prog that I could tell (although I think they did throw in one or two tracks...). I went to the after party there...NOT the show during the day...as I really don't want fork over $30 to see Stevie B or any euro/freestyle acts...(bah! and you guys say uplifting tracks is cheeze, euro/freestyle is THE ultimate cheeze, but hey, at least they play some form of house plus they had Ian van Dahl there...was ok).

Hey, I think I will be going for sure. It's the least I can do for myself since I am missing WEMF... :( Not near as good, but what can you do?
