Bike Theft Captial of the World

Don't mind me, I just need to vent a bit.

So after having my $900 bike stolen after Sasha I was a bit upset. I few retarded phone calls to the police accomplished nothing. So I went a few weeks without a bike (which is really hard for me), DrGoodvibe was nice enough to lend me his bike until I could afford to buy a new one.

I've been using it a lot over the past month, riding down to cherry beach, molson amphitheatre, etc. I keep my bike in my kitchen at the back of our house along with 3 others.

so...

I come home on Tuesday and realize that the bike is not there. I thought to myself, alright, maybe one of my roomates borrowed it. So last night, they were all home and I asked them if they had borrowed my bike and they all said no.

so...

Yeah Beh's bike was stolen right out of my kitchen (we deduced it to be some time around 4 pm on Monday)

So needless to say I'm extremely upset for a number of reasons.

1. I lost my best friends bike
2. Someone came into our house and only took my bike, no stereo, computer, or anything like that.
3. and finally, it's the second bike stolen in 2 months.

So I can now vouch for the rumour/fact that Toronto is the bike theft capital of the world.

oy thats hella bad luck dude
sorry to hear that :(

Sorry man...

Here in Waterloo, where I study, bikes get stolen pretty much all the time as well.. In fact, if within a year your bike isn't stolen, your bike must be a piece of . My friend recently lost 2 bikes within 2 months.. Now he's walking.. I guess it's a good business selling stolen bikes.

You should look into Bike insurance. if u have a $900 bike you should insure it. My bike cost me 50 bucks so if they steal it.. but then again all I got is a plain blue mountain bike with nothing fancy. But yeah, bike insurance would be a good idea next time.

Sorry to hear that Ryan :(
maybe you should buy another bike and strap an explosive to it so that when someone tries to steal it it blows up in there face (even if it's a small one, not TNT or anything :D)

seriously, auto/bike thieft is getting out of hand in Toronto

as long as you don't leave your bike locked outside for long durations you should be fine...

Also v1 is so close to MC, Engineering, Biology... you do not really need a bike when you live in v1!
