I won't argue the other points, but I used to work a lot of concerts, and let me say that when a performer doesn't do an encore 99% of the time its not his fault. Surely you know that they live for that kind of cheering and appraise. Usually, someone in house, like the Show one will make them get off the stage. FL unions are a bitch, and if a show goes longer then their alotted times, they make a fuss because if he plays another 5 minutes, they have to stay up another 5 minutes.
Its so ing retarded. I used to love showing up on time, getting paid 15 minutes AND getting to watch the encore from back of house. So on that account, and that account alone, don't be pissed at Oakie.
He started late. Did anyone come on after? |

| ok so i guess im the only one who actually enjoyed the show. i saw him wednesday at icon, and had a great time. his set started out kinda slow, but when he dropped As The Rush Comes, oh my god i went nuts. i love that track. he played alot of i didnt know, but i remember Summer Sun and Hypnotised from bunka, and dirty sticky floors. he stopped spinning at like 2:40, when it wasnt closing untill 3:00 he totally had time for an encore, and i was a little pissed that he didnt throw one down. overall it was a pretty good show (except for the $40 to get in the freaking door). way overpriced for Icon. ran into a few other TAs there. |

Ok so i ment to write something about the show earlier but this is the first i have had the chance to get to a puter.So heres my review:
IT SUCKED! It wasnt worth $30.. hell i wouldnt have even paid $20 to see him. I am not understanding what is wrong with P. Oaky but he really needs to wake up and realize that .. ICON wasnt PACKED... last yr the place was so packed that they had to keep the front doors of the club open because there was to many people .. the club was over the limit but like 100 peeps. This time i was like Holy Crap this place is dead. I walked in and WOOSH.. this hot air was massive and stuffy and Disgusting... people were dripping with sweat.. and EW. I hate to say but ICON has to be one of the trashiest clubs i have ever been too. Especially wednesday night. The crowd was very very aqward.. not your usual type of Oaky fans. If i had to describe the sounds of Oaky's show in referrence to other djs.. he was like Jimmy Joslin, Tiesto, and Baby anne all in one. His songs were so out dated.. in my opinion. all i have to say is thank god for Paul the assistant manager/bartender for making my friends and i drinks from hell..lol. Liquid Todd... YUCKO... i am sorry but i guess my taste in music is much more up to date and more intelligent than what i heard when i walked in from him. Now dont get me wrong.. this isnt a bash session for our Pioneer djs. Its just an honest opinion. I guess since seeing him last yr and at ultra... i have seen many other djs who have inspired me and amazed me much more (HINT: TIESTO!!!)Hopefully Paul is just taking a break or something.. otherwise i think his popularity is going to take a mad toll on his music career.:( |

AMEN TO THAT!!!.. for those of you thinking about going to see him in Miami... FORGET IT. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.. If you can get in for free then go.. but Dont pay 30+ to see him.. Its not worth it. Save it for PVD when he comes back!!! |
