you can get a 60 gig ZEN for 400 bucks......where a 30gig IPOD is 500....DO THE MATH>>>>>>> |

You forgot to mention all the programs you can upload on your iPod, to use it as a hand held computer. The iPod is limitless... dont settle for less, if you got the cash. :D |

yes it is....it well built...dont know about ipod...looks like it could break..but the zen is built around a hard metal case...and it doesnt skip at all..i went joggin with it....trust me its great.. |

The Zen is a beautiful machine. Like tc-fan said, the 20 gig is 300 bucks american, and the 60 gig is obviously a bit more, i can't really remember, but it's reasonably priced in comparison with the iPod. Also, 20 gb's is a good size. That's still a lot of music. Witht he iPod, yo're stuck with 15gb's (which is more expensive then the zen) and then the 30gb's (which is WAY more expensive) and so on. Someone also mentioned that you can upload programs to an Ipod...why? It's made to play music, why have programs too? That's just ridiculous. You're paying an extra like 75 bucks just so you can take up space with programs instead of music.
The zen is a much better buy and it's proven to be more user-friendly then the ipod.:)
Edit: I recently dropped my Zen down a flight of concrete steps. It was 100% undamaged, not a scratch or dent on it, the LCD was workin perfect, and it didn't disrupt thr music one little bit. |

thats cause that things a freakin brick. Way thicker and bigger than the ipod. I can see that the zen gives more bang for your buck, but if you want the whole package and have the money for it I say get the ipod. Everyone and their grandmas have ipods, can't go wrong. :toothless |

I think more people have zen's actually.:D It's actually light for it's size and it can fit in your pocket like a CD player.
The bottom line is both are excellent machines. the real question regarding this subject is, "What's your budget?" |

its only $400...also Creative labs came out with a new ZEN...smaller design...called the ZEN NX....30 gig for 300 bucks..lets see ipod beat that price.. |
