It powerful stuff, certainly not for everyone. Personally I wont take the things again, but some people are extremly serious about them... to the point of religious experiences. Enter if you will but enter at your own risk, th trip is up to you.
:wtf: |

superfarstucker - i couldnt have put it better...
my opinion is that psilocybin (which is released from shrooms) is not a HARD drug. I consider crack and heroin a HARD drug. from my experience G and DXM have been pretty intense but nothing compared to crack or heroin*no i have no tried these), thats just dirty. shroom and EXPERIENCE it, it'll shed some new light on ur life and the way u perceive reality. superfarstucker pointed out a great point, please educate yourself about the substances that u may use...it'll help u understand what you are actually doing. |

| Ok, I checked the search, cus I didn't want to start a new thread and have people bitch at me, but I was curious cus I couldnt find any info on what the long term affects shrooms have on your brain? Do they mess up your brain like e does? Are there any other things that you can get from it? A sickness, or disease or anything of the like? I'm mainly just worried about frying my brain. |

| Depends on the doseage I suppose.. I don't consider them hard drugs.. but at high doseages they can be very dangerous and you can have serious emotional/psychological scarring if you have a bad trip. I did 5 grams of super potent stuff (and i also seem to be sensitive) on May 6th 2003 (50th anniversary of Aldous Huxley's first experience with psychedelics) and had a bad trip because we went up into the mountains (which totally rocks) but in May in Montana there is still several feet of snow when you head up into the mountains and I was soaked and cold and had a bad trip for awhile and tried to make myself puke (seen trainspotting where he dives into the toilet? this was like that but my whole arm disappearing down my throat) and was miserable most of the time.. plus we had been talking about Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas the day before and so I was freaking out a bit about that.. once we got back into the car and warmed up it wasn't too terribly bad.. the problem with high doseages is that it takes LOTS of planning to make everything perfect because little things can make you freak out |

There is no damage to the brain (you could eat pounds of shrooms before there was any sort of damage from neurotoxicity) but you can have serious psychological scarring.. the experience on shrooms can be very intense and if you have a bad trip you can have post traumatic stress disorder (like war vets) and even if it is a good experience it changes how you think and if you stare at the clouds the memory of them being all distorted is so intense that you have a sort of flashback.. when people tell you that you have flashbacks because of hallucinogens being trapped in your spinal fluid forever that is a bunch of crap... but you can have flashbacks just because of the intensity of the trip.. and if it is a bad trip this can be very unpleasant and require counseling to fix.. shrooms (like anything!) can be dangerous when used inappropriately.. start with low doseages and know what you are getting into.. I researched shrooms and talked to users for 6 years before I ever tried them and the first time I did them I barely had any visuals and then slowly worked my way up from there.. and you should never do them more than a couple of times a year (plus you build up a tolerance) |

meh i only consider anything that is physically addictive (not psychologically addictive) hard. That would be all varieties of cocaine, opiates and i would also include nicotine in that catagory.
Stuff that does not have a overtly negative adverse affect on the body i would consider soft (compared to hard drugs) so i would consider MDMA, weed, shrooms, LSD, alcohol etc soft.
It all depends on how you deal with it yourself. of course if u go out and yourself up on 8 pills a night then of course you will come to harm. Or if you do too much acid in one go. If one looked after themselves whilst doing stuff then they would not come to harm. if you say LSD will up your brain then yes it will... if you overdo it. half a tab is hardly gonna send you to the asylum. If u overdo alcohol, you can die of alcohol poisioning quite easily. Fortunately most people do know when to stop. For all chems that is.
I do not consider weed and shrooms (just because they are plants) to be soft. Remember that cocaine and stuff is derived from the coca plant. Just like heroin comes from poppies.
Stuff like datura and belladonna. hmm, well i'm not sure what to make of these. Physically, they don't do you any harm. If for example, the guy who cut off his penis, was in a friendly environment (for example his bedroom) with friends, then i doubt much would have happened to him. It is the state of mind that that substance induces that brings you to harm.
And someone mentioned atropine. , that is a powerful drug, in the sense that the word "drug" is used as a medical treatment! The most famous usage of atropine (amongst many others which i can't remember) is to protect you against nerve gases. Exactly why would u want to take that for fun?! You don't go around eating suxamethonium or captopril for fun!!! :toothless |
