I'll keep my ass firmly planted on the fence here by choosing not to side with either trance or prog but im curious to know what the prog-heads think of the change of direction of Bedrock (surely one of the leading labels in the Genre - co-owned by Diggers himself). Word on the street says that when they return in October they'll be moving in a tech-housey direction and although certain prog DJs may still get bookings left, right and centre - a lot of the big names are struggling. Bigroom super-clubs aren't doing too well in Britain and when i've witnessed prog sets in more intimate venues, it's the housier stuff that gets people moving and the epic prog of old is less viable in today's club scene. Or perhaps that's just in the UK.
Please discuss.
Oh, and would someone care to draw a line between where proggy trance stops and trancey prog begins? |

the line is blurred between prog and prog trance imo...it used to be evident but not anymore. |

agreed. there really is no line between subgenres...find it hard how some peeps can be so adamant they loathe music that's essentially very similar to that which they like. pretentious wankers! haha
2003 could be reasoned as year of techno or year of electro-retro-bollocks. just keep the tunes coming everyone! as long as there's fresh tunes coming out all the time then everyone should be happy...no matter what they're in to! |

Sasha said he has a house in New York, and lives there for half the year. I'm not sure where his production studio is (New York or UK).
He's certainly rich enough to have a house in San Fran though (where the average price of a house is about half a million dollars). :eyes: |

So far I think 2003 have been a great year due to the mixture of trance n prog that dj's have been playing. |
