BT & Mike Doughty- Never Come Back Down.
Not really depressing, but compared to the original, this version is a downer (in a good way).
Tiesto- UR It's been said, but when I went through a hard time, I played this song constantly.
Gabriel & Dresden- Enemy Song gives me chills, even though I don't get the lyrics.
Not trance, but I'm making a plug for 80's music...
Practically anything from New Order- upbeat and depressing at the same time. Particularly sad song- True Faith

Paul Oakenfold- Remix of Deadcandance's 'The Host of Seraphim'
It was one of those tracks you'll never forget and too mix this classic Lisa Gerrard song and somehow he managed too pull it off.
Tiesto- Honey Chicane Club mix
You would have had too have been deeply in love and lost them at some point too ever really feel the lyrics, its a pretty boppy song but just has this underlying sadness to it.
The Cure- Disintergration
More EBM/late 80's goth than trance, probably one of the saddest songs ever written.
VNV Nation- Beloved
Cant believe this one has been left out, probably the best song writers around in the european EBM scene and everyone would have at least one VNV remix somewhere. Oh, this song... goosebumps.
Lots of stuff already mentioned, especially the Sinead remixes and someone ban Tiesto remixing Sarah Mclachlan making songs like he does, should be illegal its that good ;) |
