So... I was looking for any info in these genres... even because, apart from industrial, I haven't got a clue of what it is. I just suppose it's electronic music :p

Can anyone help me out? What is it? Where did it come from? What are the sub-genres?
If you guys could recommend some tunes, I would appreciate it too :)

Did Kill Kitties Kill! bring out any good tracks? Their name sounds interesting :D
Worship Satan sounds a bit like a cliché death metal or some grindcore group. :p
He Is Our Leader is powermetal...right?...right? :toothless

For some sweet noize, check out stuff by Merzbow.
Dulce Liquido (said to be the ppl behind Hocico) makes sweet power electro (reaxxxion all the way baby :toocool: )

I know it's a little off-topic. But I'm curious: what is "Power Noise"? I've never heared of that genre before, so if you wouldn't mind to describe it or give me some "reference"-track-examples :)

Thanks

I know about power electro, but power noise....noise is already raw and hard as it is. So I don't know why anyone would say: This is no noise, this is power noise!!!! Maybe Maaz misplaced the word power ;)

Well, you asked about industrial, so I feel I must step in :)

Einstürzende Neubauten is a good choice if you want to get the feel of what industrial was when they essentially invented it. I prefer their newer stuff, Noise just isn't my style for the most part. Great band though.

KMFDM and Ministry are good if you want industrial with very angsty lyrics and guitars with plenty of synth's and loops. KMFDM is my favorite non-trance group.

Front 242 is a good example of the more electronic side of industrial, if not at all dancy. Still, good stuff.

VNV Nation/Covenant/Assemblage 23 are good bands that are more of the dancey or synth-poppy side of Industrial.

Bile is a great band, and while staying industrial, they have a very Metal sound to them.

Noisex might be what you're really looking for. They're a cross between Industrial and Noise. Great band.

Front Line Assembly is your standard industrial band. The only way to describe them, is that they sound industrial. Still with a unique sound though, and very good.

I probably said a whole lot more than you needed to hear, and I didn't say half of what I could have, but I fear to bore you or give unnecassary info. Industrial is what I know the most about, so I said my piece. PM me or whatever if you need to know more.

Cheers.

What's the big difference between noise and power noise.

Is Merzbow power noise or just noise? :conf:

This one I learned yesterday :D

White noise is noise that doesn't try to scare you. (ex.: xenonics k 30, merzbow)

Black noise is noise that doesn't try to keep you listening for too much (that thing scares the hell out of you). (ex.: today, I'm dead)

Power noise is white noise and black noise altogether (Imminent Starvation, for example). This is the stuff that seems to have some more rhythm though. (and it's my favourite so far).

Right, Acid Junkie?

I'm just wondering what "electronics" is (Dark Apostle mentioned about it once)

read the description of "power noise" again, then download some examples. "noise" is not an actual genre, it's just a word to describe synthetic dissonance and distortion. i mean any distortion... any sound that is unpleasant to your ear is an example of noise: loud scratching, the sound of a pneumatic hammer, the roar of an airplaine... u name it! thus any track in any style may contain a noise part, making it a noise track.
"power noise" is a specific genre with its own properties, the essential of which is the presence of NOISE in every track. the genre however is not 100% noise oriented (unlike "power electronics" that is pure/raw noise). it often has either a broken beat or a 4x4 one. think of it as extreme idm, with all the experimentation left, but harder and more distorted because of NOISE.
