Clubbing madness (pg. 2)

Dress code BS is utter CRAP. My younger brother goes to clubs like that. They try and cater to the partying "elite" which to me is NOT what it's about. There's a club here (I won't say the name) that brings in top top top progressive house/trance talent almost every week! (Digweed, Jimmy van M, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren) But the way they promote it is "Business Saturdays" ok now who the hell wants to go to a club with that as their opening liner to come to their party???

True Dat!!!

I remember those crazy days like they were yesterday, that is one major reason I don't go to most events anymore...
...I refuse to let everything happening take away one last thing from me and that is my love of Dance music and the natural high it gives me. The way it lifts your soul, and makes you just go into a trance and lose yourself.
... let the music in a sense possess you and take you to a higher plane, and let yourself just dance, and forget all the troubles, and daily pains...

true, true, and true dat, nice post

I am sorry to inform you but dress code is not utter crap. I dont mean to be mean, but this is how it is... CLubs want to make money, in order to make money they need a crowd to come. They decide what kind of a crowd they want. For example, I work at Spy Club in Cincinnati and we play electronica on Friday and Saturday and Hip Hop and House on Thursday. Now, on all these night the dress cose is the same; no ball caps, ty shoes, t-shirts or ghetto or raver attire. the reason is firstly you dont want to let ghetto people into an establishment when you are trying to create a nice environment, because it drives the good people away. In the same token you dont want the ravers there because you will drive your crowd away. Ghetto people are creap and wont buy many drinks and also dont tip well. ravers, most of them on drugs and not old enough to drink will only buy water because a lot of them are on drugs. Sorr, but it is the truth. Clubs have a target audience they are going for, they want to make money and they remove the elements that destract from it. Sorry but looking nice at a club is what you want to do, no girls like a guy dressed like or like he just came from school or something.

sorry but that is the way it is. flame me if you want, i did not mean harm, just to let you know the way they see it.

OK so my idea of hell is what will soon be reality for me....
I'm 19, have been living in Amsterdam for a year.... THE PARTY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!!! :D
and in just 2 weeks I'm moving to Miami... why complain you ask?? well considering every good club there and when any decent dj spins its 21+ it's hell! After having lived here, having a party go to to everyweek... not even a dj in a club but a MAJOR party... I don't know how I'm going to survive....
Anyone have any tips how to get a good fake or something??? I'll just drop dead if i can't go see Armin, tiesto or pvd when they come to miami

Look some of what u said makes sense that is "business sense" but when i go out to dance that stuff just gets in the way.

That whole alcohol part is screwed up if u need to make money charge a cover but don't exclude ppl cause they aint meeting ur drink quota. Hmmm that puts you in a class just above a drug dealer. Oh yeah all those ravers on drugs  what do you think alcohol is? BTW, if i want to get drunk i go to a bar if i want to dance i go to club...
kid nyce
driving from ct to ny isnt that bad, i've done it in less than an hr!
but then again thats comin back from mohegan suns drunk at 4am so lols go figure

Charging cover, covers utilities, rent, dj, etc...No drink quota, but business is business. If you went to mCdonalds just to enjoy the playground and not eat the food they would have a problem. Also, they sell alcohol not drugs so that is why they push it. Dont expect you to agree, because it sucks i know. Just have an understanding of why it is the way it is, instead of being mad at the scene and not knowing the truth. Just trying to be real, not mean.

i think the older u get, your tastes in fashion style changes. Where girls your age go clubbing, could have a very big impact on your image when you go out at night.

ok seeing that's such a short distance you wouldn't even have to give it a second thought about going over to NYC cause even me having to drive 8 hours ( YES EIGHT ) hours to over there I don't really care only concern is money.

harsher than i would have put it, but new york is your answer. i mean really, what did you expect from CT?
