Clubbing madness

Saturday night my friend and I go out clubbing, we pick up girl he recently met (this is where the maddness begins). She turns out to be 18 so then we can't go to most clubs cause of her age. Then we can't get into others cause of their dress codes (no sneakers, no jeans, etc.) By the time we park and find club, its after midnight. We end up at tiny place playing hip hop with $10 cover. :whip:
My whole grip is I want to go out have some fun and dance but these clubs have all these rules and each caters to a very specific "type" of person. I like large multifloor clubs where you get a mix of different types of music and different kinds of ppl. Maybe I just live in a bad area but I'm just curious what eveyone take on this is? Am I an idealist wanting to dance without strings attached and stereotypes included (age, dress, skin color, status, etc)? |

| Yeah man, I don't get what's up with the dress code bull...whatever. Most clubs around here just play Drum N' Bass and ty house music...oh well. That's why I have my own lightswtich raves in my room while blasting trance thru the speakers connected to my laptop. |

Yep thats one way to do it. Back in the day raves in abandon warehouses was electronic music and dance at its purest. Where's a time machine when you need one? |

True Dat!!!
I remember those crazy days like they were yesterday, that is one major reason I don't go to most events anymore, sold my tables, sold my Sound and Light PA, and almost refuse to buy tables again, or get back into the " RAVE SCENE " extremely actively, because it is not what it used to be.
Blame who you want, drug abuse, the media, sell-out, what have you, but in the long run times have changed and the only things I even truely enjoy anymore are HUGE events like Loveparade, Mayday, Dance Valley, etc. I honestly can say I have not been to or thrown a really solid party, rave, whatever since early 2000, which was right before all the problems came public in the scene we all so richly love.
I am 26 now and have been in this for over 13 years as some of you have already read in some of my other posts so this is a HUGE part of my life, and although I may not be as active as once I refuse to let everything happening take away one last thing from me and that is my love of Dance music and the natural high it gives me. The way it lifts your soul, and makes you just go into a trance and lose yourself.
Next time you are out at a club, rave, whatever, just do what I do, and let the music in a sense possess you and take you to a higher plane, and let yourself just dance, and forget all the troubles, and daily pains.
Sorry this was so long!

Got ya beat, try the Kentucky, West Virginia area! Talk about dead my friend. You have to go to Cincy, INDY, Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, or somewhere else at least several hours away anymore to even have a House Party worth a crap. This comes from your friendly old skool, after hours Party DJ, and promoter. :)
I guess there is one positive here though we have a vinyl shop, actually one hip-hop primarily and one Dance oriented shop. SO excuse me it is not yet Hell on earth.

Total Distance: 118.22 miles
Total Estimated Time: 1 hour, 59 minutes
that's from hatford ct to New york Ny
ok seeing that's such a short distance you wouldn't even have to give it a second thought about going over to NYC cause even me having to drive 8 hours ( YES EIGHT ) hours to over there I don't really care only concern is money.
Now please reassure me that you've gone to some shows in new york or I'm going to have to personaly come to CT to hunt you down and shoot you for not going to the city and joining the party :whip: :whip: :D :D :D :D |
