Why is everyone flaming the guy so much? Christ everyone makes mistakes! I dont know what he's done in the past but it seems to me that he's just the guy that people like to pick apart for the sake of it.
First off, every single one of us is doing exactly what you're all harping on about : sharing music. So Bart expressed a wish for the (incomplete) songs not to be shared; dont you think that if someone asked any producer, they would all say that they didnt want their work to be shared? So really we're all guilty of doing what Raversurge did.
Secondly, and its been said before, we're supposed to be a community that supports each other, through everything, even through the cock-ups. The artists are as much a part of TA as the fans, so the same rule applies to them. Where's the support?? Where's the "never mind, no harm done. Just don't be a silly bitch next time" speech??
Finally, there's no real harm done. They weren't full tracks and they weren't of a very good quality. The only thing to come out of this whole ordeal is lots of publicity for Bart. If anything, record labels will be loving it as they're guarenteed to sign tunes that are going to sell due to the interest.
So leave the guy alone, he's righted his wrongs by unsharing and no permanent damage was done.
As for Bart, its great what you did for us with the whole live stream deal, but you know things like this are gonna happen. And when they do, it's not because people set out to ruin your career, it's because they love the music and want to share it with others. So please dont put people into the situation Raversurge is in now by asking people not to share, when you know it's gonna happen. It breaks trust needlessly.

Not really.The tracks in question here are unreleased,and not even signed yet. To rob Bart of his possibilites to get signed is much worse than DLing his track instead of for it (and even that might not be a disadvantage,since downloaded mp3s might cause the downloader to buy his work afterwards)

Read the entire thread.Everyone were about to leave Raversurge alone,but then it turned out that even AFTER a full flaming session,he STILL hadn't unshared the file. Hence the following outrage.

Most likely yes. There is a risk however that these samples are a good material for stealing ideas, since they are neither signed nor released yet. Therefore Bart has no right whatsoever to complain if he later finds out that somebody stole ideas from these samples. On top of this, many labels will be reluctant to sign, simply because of the principle that they are against illegal file sharing.
But most likely,this whole ordeal will just give Bart even more hype,and in the long run he will benefit from it.

Yes,after us flaming his ass off twice,which was so incredibly unneccesary. You'd think he'd get the message first time around,wouldn't you? But he didn't,strangely enough. And that's why things have gone as far as they have. |

After he said about 3 times that he had unshared it he still had not.
He was still sharing it on Oldos up until the point where he was banned from it.
So obviously he had no intention of unsharing it. |

| either way, you can say it is both bart and raversurge's fault for what happened. this is the internet, you cannot tell the tone of someone when they say they wont share it. someone should really close this thread, give the guy a break. a lot fo stuff is put out early and artists get pissed off, it happens, big in deal, leve it alone |

Over the top. All of it. Released, unreleased, signed, played, shared, whatever. D/L is illegal. We all know it but still do it, which puts us all in the wrong. I just think that it's a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
What has he been banned from so far?? |

| I think banning cockjuice was a bit over the lip... Sure he was fanatical, sure he was illogical, and sure he ripped tunes he shouldn't have. Fact is all/most of us are infringing on artists copyrights aswell. I don't care if u buy every tune you have on your sharelist, sharing them with other people is still copyright infringement. Streakfury is right, the pot *is* calling the kettle black.. |

| raversurge got banned? ffs...it seems like people were doing anything to get him banned. the guy shared a set or two, big deal. i've seen racist, sexist, and down right rude people continue to post on these forums, yet i guess they somehow contribute to the TA community. funny how things work out, isnt it? |
