OK, here's some info about the forthcoming now oh-so-popular movies based on Marvel comics, for all the fans of the genre or the comics.

Sam Raimi: Spiderman 2 (July 2, 2004)

- Two years have passed, and the mild-mannered Peter Parker faces new challenges as he struggles with "the gift and the curse," desperately trying to balance his dual identities as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man and his life as a college student.
- Tormented by his secrets, Peter finds that his relationships with all those he holds dear are in danger of unraveling.
- His life-long yearning for M.J. (Kirsten Dunst) becomes even stronger as he fights the impulse to reveal his secret life and declare his love.
- His friendship with Harry Osborn (James Franco) is complicated by the young Osborn's bitterness over his father's death and his growing vendetta against Spider-Man.
- Even Peter's beloved Aunt May (Rosemary Harris), who has fallen on hard times after the death of Uncle Ben, begins to have doubts about her nephew.
- Peter's life is about to become even more complicated as he encounters a formidable new foe - Dr. Otto Octavius.
- Peter must use all the powers at his disposal to try to stop this diabolical madman in his octagonal tracks.
- Tobey Maguire still is Peter Parker/Spiderman
- Alfred Molina is Otto Octavius/Dr. Octopus
- Dylan Baker is Dr. Curt Connors/Lizard
- Willem Dafoe is planned to have a cameo
- Bruce "Ash of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead" Campbell will also have a cameo.

Jonathan Hensleigh: The Punisher (April 16, 2004)

- Undercover FBI agent and former Marine Frank Castle is devastated when his wife and children are killed after they accidentally witness a mafia hit.
- With nothing left to lose, he decides to dedicate himself fully to the eradication of crime (organized and otherwise) from America, as an army, assassin, judge and jury all rolled up into one man, with a whole lot of guns of course: The Punisher.
- Wearing a menacing black battle suit with a white skull emblazoned on his chest, the Punisher first sets his sights on the crime syndicate that was responsible for the murders of his family.
- Along the way, his vendetta quest leads to the son of Howard Saint, a former underworld boss who had gone straight, but the death of his son leads him to get back into crime, and guess who's he gunning for...
- This adaptation will have nothing to do with the original, made in 1990 and starred by Dolph Lundgren.
- Thomas Jane as Frank Castle/The Punisher
- John Travolta plays the main villain, Howard Saint
- Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (Mystique on X-Men/X-Men 2) as Joan.
- Tom Nowicki is rumoured to play Lonnie Lincoln aka Tombstone.
- Laura Harring as Ivia Saint.
- Ben Foster as Dave.
- Samantha Mathis as Amanda Castle.
- Roy Scheider (Police Chief Martin Brody on Jaws) as Frank Castle's father.

Mark Steven Johnson: Ghost Rider (Fall 2004)

- A motorcycle stuntman makes a deal with the devil in order to save his mentor from cancer.
- His end of the bargain is a little more than he expected, however, and he is possessed by a demon.
- Every night, he transforms into the Ghost Rider, a humanoid form with a flaming skull for a head, and goes out to wreak vengeance on the guilty.
- Johnny Blaze aka Ghost Rider played by Nicolas Cage!!! :nervous:
- Jon "Angelina Jolie's father" Voight also starred
- Johnson directed Daredevil and will also direct Daredevil 2 and Elektra

David Goyer: Blade 3 - Trinity (August 2004)

- Official name not confirmed yet
- Blade joins forces with two vampire hunters part of a group called the Nightstalkers as they tackle the powerful and ruthless villain Danica Talos.
- After harvesting the superior blood of the ancestor of all modern vampires, Talos has resurrected the man now known as "Drake" (notice the modernization of the Dracula name) from a century-long sleep in the hopes of finally getting world control for all vampires.
- Blade, along with the band known as the Nightstalkers must stop them from unleash a virus that will kill all the vampires — but only are given one chance to make it work.
- Wesley Snipes returns to his ass-kicking character as Blade

Mark Steven Johnson: Elektra (2005)

- Movie picks up the curvaceous assassin as she recovers from the near-death experience in Daredevil and battles the Hand, the organization of killers that trained her and then turned against her.
- A central character will be a martial arts trainer named Stick.
- Starred by Jennifer Garner as Elektra
- Productions starts April 2004.

Bryan Singer: X-Men 3 (release date not available yet)

- Same cast as the first episodes + also new rumoured characters include Gambit, Beast, Angel, Psylocke, Emma Frost, Dazzler, Juggernaut and possibly the Sentinels.
- No story has been confirmed, but according to a few of my sources, the third part will most likely revolve around the Phoenix saga.
- The producers also want to go right ahead into the Dark Phoenix story.

Mark Steven Johnson: Daredevil 2 (2005)

- After his defeat at the hands of the Man Without Fear during their first confrontation, the Kingpin returns with a new weapon more powerful than anything that Daredevil is prepared to deal with - the truth about Matt's secret identity!
- And Kingpin has brought a new henchman with him to help achieve his sinister goals...the infamous Mr. Fear!
- already confirmed
- same cast than pt. 1 had

Exactly! I wonder why the f**k does Hollywood need to ruin all the coolest characters with these actors which don't look at all like they should. Thomas is too "lame and small" looking for being the Punisher. Even if the 1990 version of the Punisher was crap, Dolph Lundgren was much closer to what Frank Castle should look like. And that pic of Thomas as Frank doesn't give much more credit to him..

i'm pumped to see X-Men 3, the first 2 were pretty good. Spiderman was kind of sucky and i doubt they'll do a worse job with the second one. Daredevil, well i wasn't expecting much and it was an all round entertaining movie so i'm guessing the second one will be about the same.

I just need some good and well developed fight scenes to keep me happy :)

I wish to see nicely organized fights in movies too, especially in these movies because fighting is one of the most noticeable things in Marvel comics. Among the characters' love stories of course..

Hollywood has just made most of the comic adaptations look way too sweet and artificial, comic-like, a real rainbow coloured treat. Just like little children's toys. I must say i have liked all the new Marvel comics adaptations lately but even if the Spiderman, Daredevil and Hulk looked great to the audience, they all missed depth and the little things make the comics interesting. Not only the 110% speed and massive fighting scenes. After the movie ended, u kinda felt like something was still missing.. there should've been something more in it.

Yeah!
By the way, I was under the impression that Bryan Singer wanted to move on his career path away from the X-men series.
As a side note, The Usual Suspects was a kick ass movie :D

Oh no not a sequel to Daredevil, what have Jennifer Lopez appear as a cameo and run the movie further into the ground?

TeKnoHe@d2025
Ugh, Daredevil 2? I thought 1 was bad enough :nervous:

The only thing that made that movie worth watching was Jennifer Garner, and she died like half way through the movie, so I guess you catch my drift ;)

Well, the plans for X3 are confirmed but Singer is still thinking whether he will direct it or not.. Anyway, he is considered as the biggest candidate for doing directing.

And about DD 2.. LOL @ JLo!! Yes, the first one really wasn't that great. It missed alot of things from the comics or had changed them too much. It also looked like a sweet candy but was an empty shell afterall. Even if i've been a fan of Marvel Universe for about 18 years, it was a disappointment. Shame really, DD would've had so much more possibilities if told a bit differently. More "less-Hollywoodish" style would i say. And some other than Ben Affleck might have been better IMO.

She didn't die! :D

She survived.. heh, she's a tough chick. She also gets her own movie Elektra next year and most likely will be on DD2 as well.
