16:10 the power all over (most of) ontario, NY, Mighigan etc goes out...

roads are all in chaos....

driving back from the airport after picking up a relative we see ordinary peopoe like you and me, standing in the middle of an intersection that is potentially dangerous, directing trffic.

ITs a wonder how such good hearted people still exist in a world so fst paced and selfish as today still exist.

We care not about the land we polute, we care about what we want and what we want alone.

We care not about how our actions affect everyone else, the dying earth or any vaguely related victim.

A Blackout covers more than 2 states, gas stations which should ahve a backup generator that can run on gas present in the reservoirs are not around.

cashiers across teh province walk away from their grocery stores, convinience stores and restaurants. Why?

cos we as powerful a species on this planet as we are depend on electricity. without it we are mere slaves to the nothingness.

meanwhile the raccoon walking towards me jsut goes about its business and the crickets creek to their heart's content.

Looking at the clear night sky, not a hundred stars like a regular night, but a million...COUNTLESS.

To conclude,

As powerful as we maay be a species, organic beings, beings that can think and feel, have emotion and knowledge; a black out for a few hours brings us down to the level of an ant that went astray from its line.

Good post. very true but a little obvious :p

I personally had a lot of fun during the blackout (I always love blackouts don't ask why)...last night we fired up the BBQ and cooked some melting burgers and chicken. It was really nice to see so many people outside just relaxing and the amount of people helping out like you said at intersections was nice to see.

Today a couple friends and I just walked around with a small 'ghettoblaster" pounding some trance near the mall while we were desperately trying to finish our ice cream before it melted in our hands. A lot of people passing by stopped and chatted for a while and wanted to know the names of some of the tunes we were playing (after straying from trance around march I can honestly say I've regained the respect for trance just from this). I also took some nice pics w/my digital camera till the battery ran out.

Personally, I really wish this kind of stuff would continue, but SOME electricity is necessary.

if there was any good night to have a TA house party it would have been thursday night...pretty much everyone stayed home the next day, there was nothing else to really do :p and could've blasted some trance seeing as *most* of the cops were busy last night :happy2:

powerfull species?
bro, if this blackout lasted for another couple of days, half of the population in this city would probably die due to inability to survive without electricity.

we did pretty damn well imo

not much chaos after everyone got home

even tho..it messed things up

it was kinda cool hanging out in the dark with yer neighbours...chatting about stuff.

The STARS! People! THE STARS!!!

LKD, I thought about the same thing on Thursday.

I thought it went to show how DISCONNECTED we all are from each other these days. Our interconnectivity depends on electricity. When the power went out, there was no internet access and cell phone servers were overloaded. It was an eye opening experience for a lot of people.

I thought it was cool the first night, but by Friday evening it was pissing me off.
