Mr.Mystery
Here you go then - I posted a clip of this one a few weeks back... and after a long consideration whether this will destroy the any bit of credibility I may have or not I decided to post it anyway :p

OrgaNik - Carvanha (9:02, 8.3MB, 128kbps)

It's a bit more commercial than my usual stuff but I hope I didn't slip into the territory known as cheeseland.

Lemme know what you think.

not bad at all! production wise the track is very well done, really love the percussion.. the kick should be a tad louder though, the bassline seems to drown it a little..

the melody is indeed rather 'happy', but i wouldn't say it's cheesy.. but there's still that 'problem' where the first chord of the melody does not quite follow the last one..

all in all it's a good track, so you don't have to worry about your credibility.. :)

...and I still don't understand what you're on about.

dunno i could be wrong, but when i listen to it i feel there is some sort of harmonic issue between the last chord of the melody and when it starts again (the first chord)..
Mr.Mystery
I can't hear it :conf:

That's not to say you're wrong, though, since I've been listening to it non-stop for the last 2 days and I've become "deaf" to it, so to speak.

CHEEEEEEEEEEESE!, Only joking, it sounds pretty good mate, it is like tor said 'Happy' but not cheesey. Also i 2 can hear that bit that tor has spotted but i think it is just a combination of the notes that are following each other and the delay/fx bouncing off it! But i would not worry about it, like i said it is somthing and nothing:D

Good Job.;)
dbl
sounds good..
as said it's a bit more happy then cheesy... so you are lucky mr ;)
Shoes
I like this. Yeah, it's a bit cheesy, but it's very well produced. I like the breakbeat part.
Mr.Mystery
Thanks for the feedback.

Don't think I'll be doing any more stuff of this kind, it was just something I needed to get out of my system.

BTW:
Here is a MIDI of the lead if anyone's interested...

Yeah I fully agree with what tor said here... :D

I also don't like the chord change, it doesn't flow all that well musically... the other chords flow well tho.

Well produced, pro sounding... definitely NOT cheese.
Dom
i love this Nik! i don't see any problem with the chords either.....
