This may be dumb, but i like to build up my vocabulary, and get alot of good words into my vernacular. so i guess, just post one good word and the definition of that word

Good word....I use it quite a bit. The key to a worthlessly large vocabulary is knowing how/when to use the big words though :D
One I like to throw in occasionally:
puerile - childish, silly, juvenile

| PURE L E i believe, but IANAL (... not a linguist) so if im wrong.. don't come running to my pm box! I use a plethora (:crazy: )of words that make my peers do the head scratch thing normally but at the moment i seem to be at a loss. Hmm.. juxtapose is a fun word =) (to place side by side for comparison... usually two things you wouldn't compare directly) |

That reminds me of something...back when he was playing for the Miami Heat, John Salley used to do a bit on one of the Miami TV stations called "John Salley's Word of the Day".
He would find some obscure word, give the definition, and use it in a funny sentence. :clown:
They showed it once on a channel I was watching and I remember clearly that the word of the day was:
Prognosticate - to predict
I don't remember the sentence though. :(

One last word while I finish waiting for my download to finish so I can go to bed.
Up until they started putting medical and computer terminology in the dictionary a decade or so ago...this was the official longest word in the English language:
