*edit* apparently there was a leak of wa5 alpha... http://forums.winamp.com/showthread...threadid=147282 |
yeah it was originally posted by www.ntfs.org, who normally get their news and info right.
from speaking to others who have used this the playback features (based from winamp 2) are ok, which is no supprise to me, where the bugs lie are from the skinnging. |

Sounds like a prettier version of 2 to me. If so, that would be unprecedented in the world of software. |

There are a couple of differences in the preferences, but that's pretty much it. |

(the pronounce of the number "four" in these languages sound like the word "death" or something) |
huh? i know its like that in chinese but korean/japanese? or are you just stereotyping
the three languages aren't nearly alike |

As a moderator of the winamp forusm and to so degree associated with them I feel I should point out that this is a unauthorised leak of the new software.
The staff are actually pretty disappointed about this leak.
There will be no support etc for this. So downlaod at your own risk.
I haven't got it and do not need it.
The idea behing Winamp5 is a marriage of the best of WA2.x and the good points of WA3 (which are not many *shudder* just the free form skins) See 2+3 =5 Nullsoft humour.
It will be the best of both worlds and hopefully they have learnt from their mistakes of WA3.
Personally I am confidant with them that it will be much improved. It is most based on WA2 but much enhanced. With native WA2 plugin support too. :);) |

Yeah, winamp v2.X versatility and ease of use (memory and feature wise) with winamp v3 skins would be sweet :D |

Well, after some research and reading the NTFS forum, it seems like this could be pretty good after all, since it's mostly based on Winamp 2.x. And there's a CD Ripping option too :) Wonder how that works.. |

well it still has the crappy sound quality as winamp 3 has ... but anyways, this is just a super-early alpha version . |
