Stupid people....

There are too many stupid people in the world. Some should just be locked up and not let out - but the key is to do this before they can cause ruckas for the rest of us.

The children in the article below are my mother's husband's kids (my mother's step kids [and I guess technically my step-brothers/sister]). I see these little kids frequently.

Kudos to this tow truck driver. I hope he laid a beating down on the drunk fool after he stopped him.

Local News: Tow truck driver nabs drunk hit-and-run suspect on 401
August 28, 2003 - 8:39 am

A father of two is being called a hero for going after, and nabbing a suspected hit-and-run drunk driver on Highway 401 near Keele St. last night.

A three-year-old girl is in critical condition at the Hospital for Sick Children, and her two older brothers are also hurt.

"She has life-threatening head injuries, her two little brothers are in better shape but they're still actually quite badly hurt with neck and back injuries," said OPP Sergeant Cam Woolley

While it is a sad story, credit must be given to a tow truck driver, Woolley said.

The tow truck driver says he was thinking of his own kids when he hopped into his truck and chased the suspect about one kilometre along the highway.

He assisted the children's parents in freeing them from the wreckage, then chased the SUV when it started to drive off.

The driver says he eventually managed to pin the car and the fleeing driver.

The suspect will appear in court this morning charged with, among other things, impaired driving.

Don't drive drunk people.....

Respect to the tow truck driver. Hell, if it was me, I would have given the suv retard a couple shots to the head. Atleast there are some good citizens out there.

That's disgusting.

I hope that guy pays for everything. Complete and total respect for the Tow Truck Driver. It takes courage to do something like that. How do you stop a car driving at 100 km per hour??

On a side note, I read this in the metro today and couldn't believe my eyes. It was a reader letter titled "Bag, Mags take seat away"

For those of you who dont' read the metro click here to read the storey. You will have to scroll down to the 12th page.

Talk about ignorant and stupid people

It is?

RJ, sorry to hear those kids are part of your family. I read about that in the paper this morning and thought, "how awful." I hope they get well soon.

you are totally right about stupid peoole.....ive always thought that some people need to complete a competency test to leave their houses

(btw....watch for my book entitled "Public Competence for Dummies" I have no patience for stupid people and and those that dont have common courtesy or competence)

a big thank you goes out to the tow truck driver....I actually think that tow truck drivers are generally nice. On the night of Tiesto, my STUPID friend took too much drugs, so we called a tow truck, got one right away and he took us to his house first to drop the car off and then all the way to myhouse since we had no way of getting there for like 50 bucks. He was really nice also.

Sorry to hear this RJ. Is your step-sister still in rough condition?

As if the person was going to just take off.

mad props to the tow truck driver.

I really do hate stupid people, and working in a grocery store, I have to deal with it on a daily basis...

but hitting and running is just ing stupid. Just as stupid as driving drunk.

I hope your step-siblings have a speedy recovery :)
Elmo-On-XTC
the two-truck driver should've chopped his head off! (ninja-style)

drunken fools like this deserve to be brutally punished. there's enough awareness of the effects of drunk-driving that people should know better by now

I'm really sorry to hear this RJ. I hope your step-brothers/sister recover as quickly as possible.

:sadgreen:

Mosaic: your sig may be the end of you :haha:

UPDATE (8.28.2003 - 22:30):

The 3-year-old girl (my stepsister I guess [not quite use to calling them that as my mother married the man about 1 year ago - I'm still not comfortable calling him my step-dad even becuase I'm so old and he hasn't been a dad, more of a buddy...]) is still in ICU @ Sick Kids.

The 12 and 9 y/o boys (stepbrothers?) have been released with soft-tissue damage (bruises, whiplash, etc).

The girl hasn't regained consciousness, and has some bleeding of the brain. They've inserted a cranial probe to regulate/monitor/control bleeding/pressure in the skull. From what they tell us the swelling is to be expected after a head trauma. Sick Kids is going to keep her in a chemically induced coma for the next 3 or 4 days to give the brain a chance to try and heal itself (I suppose that being conscious creates stress on the brain).

I’m going to call the Tow Truck driver tomorrow and thank him and offer to take him and his family out to dinner. I think his actions are amazing and I am very thankful for his quick thinking. Now I just hope we get some harsh justice on the bad guy.

Question: Does anybody know how I can get the ID on the driver who hit and then ran? I heard on the radio that he was in court this morning but they didn’t release his name (they just said he was a 58 y/o from Willowdale). I'd like to send a nasty letter to him, his family, his neighbors and his employer.

grrr.. stupid doesn't even begin to describe that guy.

Wishing for a speedy and full recovery
