But in all seriousness...as a chick, and having been through grade 9, I would be really impressed if you walked up to me nice and tall (don't slouch over to her) and friendly and said..."Would you come out for dinner/shopping/movie with me." And say it with confidence...like if she said "no" it wouldn't matter to you because you would move on. After she gives her answer whatever it is, make your reaction nice and simple (no drama) and be on your way.
Screw the, 'get to know her first' crap. You will get to know her if she says yes, and if you don't like her enough to be more than friends than tell her that she is great, but you are looking for someone different to be with. (Maybe a little too mature for grade 9? I don't know.)

why don't you add in a that'd be SUPER too and she'll think your gay and REALLY want to hang with you.. you'd probably get to know her more then she does that way :)

Way wrong answer...i know you guys are talking about 9th grade,but come on, "get to know her better"? That's what you can do when you go out with her. There is nothing wrong with dinner and a movie...it doesn't matter how "manly" it is of you because you are trying to impress the GIRL, unless she was a guy , then that WOULD be gay. joking!
