Yes, this is commercialization of a track, granted. But who cares about that if it sounds good? |
Well said.
Tho I fail to see pplz who would agree with u, its just the same as a pop song that sounds good - so I see no diff between mike version and the pop track.
People will say that pop sucks and that mike version is good and that's hypocritical
So I don't respect commercialization much but its ok to listen ... I mean you know... |

according to your statement, 'perception' is a pop song? :conf:
anyway, you're right that it is commercial. but there's a difference in that mike has added vocals that he likes himself. sure it results in some extra cash, but Milk inc. for example produce only to make money. they use some random bla bla vocals about love and release it. i'm pretty sure the producers don't really like any of their tracks. mike would do no such thing, i'm certain he would not have made a vocal version if he thought the vocals were dreadful. |

its the same thing milk inc and that vocal version
don't be so naive, everyone wants money and need to for a living but it doesnt make them better |

of course it is commercializing and the finished version is gonna sound e even if mike puts out a thousand FX on top of that vocal.
but this crap incident is not enough for me to stop respecting this guy as m0sh suggested. he made way too many good tunes.
and i still think producers should have the right to make a few crap comercial tunes to get $$$. as long as they keep feeding us with quality tunes, like m.i.k.e. have been doing. |

why? if you have the skills why don't make a few extra bucks?
well if he made a crap track under a new alias (or.. wait.. he did.. Positive Energy :haha: ) it wouldn't bother as much as turning a good track into .. but still.. if a producer keeps loyal to his fan base putting out good underground music regularly i don't see what's wrong to put out some obvious cheese on other project. |

| well it is ok , but after that I wouldn't deny the fact that he is "cheesey" and the respect for him will be much less. |

read my post again.
milk inc. release tunes they don't even like themselves, mike made sure he got a vocalist he respects. he'd never consider throwing a meaningless vocal on top of his track. he'll make sure the track sounds good before he releases it.
from milk inc.'s point of view, it would be something like "well it's not something i'd buy myself, but anyway we'll make lots of money with this!" |

All these producers make endless music, but none of you buy it. Half of you are 'mp3kiddies' who just download everything, then complain when your favourite artists have to do the odd commercial track just to make ends meet.
Maybe when you all buy a few M.I.K.E records, then you can come back and call him a sellout, ok? |

tbh i agree but most people who download the tracks will buy them if they like them. It's rare that many of these tunes come out as cd singles and are infact just usually found on vinyl and not many people like the idea of buying a vinyl to just listen to it or dont have a turntable. |
