well, if the agony of one's life is that unbearable, why shouldn't they be allowed to end it? |

Ultimately it is a decision only the subject has the ability to make, but the subject's point of view can often be distorted. While suicidal tensions do show a temporary weakness of an individual, the society should do its best to help and at least to examine the situation and subsequently judge whether the suicidal wishes are a good and logical choice or just a result of a temporary problems. In this specific case, the suicidal wishes are obviously a result of a temporary problem, one which may disappear even within several weeks. Therefore it is good that the community acted in this way, although the choice to make is and should ultimately be neo geo's. Anyway, to cut the crap, all I'll say is I'm glad we diverted his intentions and that he's still with us. Hopefully you'll find some pleasure in life, because believe me, such a thing does exist and it's effects are often more than enough to make up for the bad sides. |

Are you freaken kidding me?
YOU, yes YOU, go walk through St.Jude's Children's Hospital and you tell all of those kids from the age of 2-12 that it is OK if you kill yourself over money or because you have a ty upbrining or because you cant handle your problems...you look at those little kids who are FIGHTING with every ounce of their little bodies, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW NO MATTER WHAT THAT THEY WILL DIE IN A FEW MONTHS, and tell them that line of crap.....
EVERYONE'S life sucks at some point....i dont care who you are, how much money you have or what you do....thats LIFE....
Granted the ONLY exception i personally could give to "assisted suicide" would be if you are in a hospice and there is absolutley zero chance to save you AND AND AND you are is HORRIFIC agony....but if your not in so much pain that it is unbearable then there is NO reason to do it...
All the people who died in wars, disease, poverty, and even the 9.11 attacks would give anything to be alive right now...and you think it is ok for someone who has a ty life to just give up cus they cant handle it?....your out of your ing mind!!!!... |

Wow- did you just say that?
The only time suicide would be appropriate is if you're not coherant and cannot make a decision for yourself. Then it would be assisted if all other means dont seem plausible.
If you're awake and can even think the word Suicide- then it's never appropriate- Everyone has problems. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with - I have had my share of problems. If something isnt working- Change it- Change the routine- Change the friends- Change your Job. If you're still living with your parents at 24 thats no big deal- at least you have somewhere to live- When you blame it on meds you're just making excuses. It's not up to the meds to change your life- it's up to you- The meds just help to smooth out the day.
My two sense.

Would you still do it if you life was unbearable- but when you were over with 10 other peoples lives were unbearable because of what you did? |

I personally dont see anythign wrong with that. As long as you dont screw up anyone else's life and u live a virtuous life, nothing wrong with dying. Youre just gonna go to a better place anyway . . .assuming you obey all the rules =) |

Life can be hard at times but everyone has their problems someway or another.. THINGS CAN CHANGE. I'm going through bad times right now, suffering from a little bit of depression - I'm 20 (21 in December) been unemployed for quite a long time, took 2 courses studying IT they both didn't work out for me.. I feel like I wasted the last 2 years or so of my life... not really going out too much... sometimes I don't wake up till like mid-day... etc. I still live my with my dad but I see it as no big deal infact you need parents more than ever to support you. Friends are great support too.. I'm actually doing something positive learning to drive at last.. and taking a short holiday in a weeks or so time.. Once I get back I want to turn things around as soon as I can and try and make my 21st something special instead of just letting some the best years of my life slip away.
Anyway, I just felt that I had to post something here after reading this - I don't post too often just browse mainly.
It is great to read all the other replies and support people can give. :) Apart from 'Berson's post' |
